A few days had gone by. She had good reason for the delay. A broken rib being the most that had subjected her to lying in bed for the past day and night. A bruised neckline and two tiny little puncture wounds marking the little boys hunger, and brutality to her neck. Phlynn had undermined Alexi. Her passion to love him had left her with a hole in her heart. It was time now to see to it that such things were not tolerated in her beloved land of Mrken. After all, when a piece of what you hold dear is taken, "risk" becomes of little consequence.
A hot bath had washed the vomit from her hair. Now brushed clean by Rebecca her personal handmaiden. She sunk deeper into the steamy hot bath. Elbows had been scraped bloody. She let her arms dangle over the edge of the polished curve of porcelain. The tips of her knuckles scraped the floor at either side of the claw foot tub. She would have let the water bubbled over her head but the moment it touched at her chin she was reminded of the cut that was still healing. Small but still it marked her delquite visage. A sigh came from the noble woman, and then another pressing drink of her wine by the young girl who was seeing to her every need, while she recovered.
She still had a great deal of business that needed tending too.
"Rebecca? I need you to take a letter to the Broken Dagger Tavern. Find out which room a Lord Altias Bromn is staying. "
She made sure she had the girl’s full attention before she went on.
"Over there on my night stand, it is the blue scroll that has already been sealed. See to it that he receives it. " She instructed as she moved to lift her naked frame out of the tub.
"No, no Madam Let me help you." she insured the woman, coming up behind her, wet or not and supporting the woman with her own body. Wrapping both arms up around her under-arm and pulling her to her feet on the soft rug. Toweling her off and covering Alexi with a robe.
"Shall I dress you now Madam?" Rebecca inquired softly.
"No. Go. See to it that Lord Altias has that letter. Take a horse from the stable and go see to that. I will no longer need your assistance. After you deliver that letter then you are free to do as you wish. See me tomorrow about your wages."
And that was that.
