Phinneas Ansgot

Phinneas Ansgot was a ditcher by trade and a sometimes-member of the Myrken Militia. He was better known in the town for his talent with a whittling knife. Grey-haired and worn about the eyes, he could tell many a tale about the jobs he'd worked on in the past: the Gaol's reconstruction, for instance, or the ditches that Proxenus One-Eye had ordered dug as proof against a vicious spate of fires.

Understandably, he was less forthcoming where his membership in the Order of the All was concerned. Ultimately, that membership was to prove fatal: it was for reason of his place amongst the Order's ranks that he was slain in his own home, a retaliation for their victimising of Myrken Wood -- and the death of Governor Altias Bromn. This would ultimately prove to be the first of several such slayings. His corpse was discovered draped in the platinum robes that are the Order's trademark, his throat slit wide and his forehead impaled by a short dagger. On his chest were carved the words: Belief Is Death.
