Description
In terms of appearance, Genevieve, Lady Harkness was known late in life for her silver hair and her slender frame except for her immense breasts. Like her husband, Alfred Harkness, she indulged herself, wearing formal, expensive clothing at all times. However, unlike her husband, she mostly stayed out of the public; a lifelong stammer of the voice led to insecurity and to reliance on her riches and her looks to get what she wanted.
Background
Origins
Genevieve Fitch was a slim lady born into a wealthy house of Ricathair with no life planned for her other than to marry her to someone of an equally wealthy family who did not care about the, to her, embarrassing stutter in her voice. She wed Alfred Harkness, an architect from Ricathair, to her father's agreement (more for Harkness's money than his woefully lacking common sense). She quickly bore her much larger husband two children, Aaron and Susan, and the family was part of the exodus to found Westenford in 1 AR. She lived there as the well-to-do housewife of Westenford's third Chief Magistrate. After her children reached adulthood and returned to Ricathair, she stayed on with her husband into their old age until the arrival of an invading force from the Red Caps led by Colonel Barnabas Leland. Infidelity led her to poison Lord Harkness in an attempt to gain favor with the Colonel, which backfired on her when the Colonel poisoned her to eliminate her in an attempt to help destabilize power in Westenford. The tale of the end of the Harkness marriage and the resulting beginning of the Red Caps invasion is told in a play written in 170 AR titled The Most Lamentable Tragedy of Alfred and Genevieve.

The Present
Alfred and Genevieve Harkness are both deceased, as chronicled in the play The Most Lamentable Tragedy of Alfred and Genevieve. Their two children, Aaron and Susan, were both adults living in Ricathair by the time of their parents' demise, with Aaron already working as a tailor before being killed over a pricing dispute and Susan long since married into the Chopin family with two children of her own. Eventually, in 145 AR, Susan's great-granddaughter Alison Olivia Chopin would be born. She would years later marry Aloisius Treadwell.
Plots
Apart from being central to Westenford's history and from being a primary character in a play that made Aloisius Treadwell famous as a younger man, Genevieve Harkness holds no importance in modern plotlines.
