Certain...enquiries are made; there are eyes everywhere, and tongues which wag with various tales. But still, even under such...unusual circumstances, protocol must be observed. Particularly under circumstances such as these, perhaps...
I, Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Interim Governor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary, etc.; to His Honour Marquis Malegnone Al-D'arcu, the Councilor of Defence and Civil Security: Greetings.
I need not detail the tribulations and trials of recent months; none who set foot within Myrken borders are unaware of these, and many encounter them personally. It is with this very fact in mind that I pen this inquiry.
The township remains as rife as ever with rumours, but it was not until recent months that your name began to feature amongst them. Of course, you realise that Myrken Wood is in dire need, being yourself no manner of fool; you may not, however, have realised your importance in this hour of need. The province does not always rain adulations upon its Judiciary, but it is well aware of the guidance and protection which we provide, and should suspicions of your untimely demise continue -- worsened, of course, by the fact of our prior Governor's death -- the ensuing panic might be of a magnitude we've not seen before now. In short, sir, a public appearance may be in order.
I eagerly await your reply.
Done by my hand at Lothbury Estates, this 6th day of February.
Giscard Guillaume.
