The Gift

He had placed a black velvet pouch with a ravens wing in silver before her. She glanced at the pouch and wrote, "What is this?"

Ravynlord chuckled. "Had you already forgotten what we discussed?"

She gave him a curious look. Perhaps she had.
Without haste, she opened it, looking within.

*Within the pouch is a fine silver chain, upon which is suspended a worked silver medallion some three inches across. It's worked with a ring of sigils, and in the centre are what appears to be a mouth.*

A soft smile curled upon her lips. The pouch then handed back to him, turning to lift sterling locks so he may place the medallion on her. Once done, she turned back around.

"This will able you to speak, but use caution. It is very sensitive and will speak your every thoughts."

She nodded slowly and attempted to use it then.

"T..thank you."

She blinked and looked to the medallion. It was perhaps not her voice heard, but she could now speak. It brought tears of joy in violet hues. There would be many who would be in shock that she could speak again. It had been nearly a year. Some perhaps joyed. The elf herself was thrilled.
I love quotations because it is a joy to find thoughts one might have, beautifully expressed with much authority by someone recognized wiser than oneself.
