Of Madness and Treason.

I, Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Councilor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary In Regards To Commerce and Trade Etc., to His Honour Joseph O'Cynen, the Councilor of Agriculture; to His Honour Marquis Malegnone Al-D'arcu, the Councilor of Defence and Civil Security; to His Honour Aloisius Treadwell, the Councilor for Administrative Sanctions; to Thomas Daniels, Captain of the Myrken Wood Guard, Order of Straka, etc.;: Greetings. Gentlemen, I intend to be frank. Upon my return from Heath, I find matters here to be in a state of outright disarray. Conflicting warrants have been issued, and the names of several persons of good standing sullied. Several of the entourage of Burel, Duke of Thessilane, have been murdered in our very streets. Our Governor speaks of treason and is attacked in our most notorious establishments; both his sanity and his health are called into question. Several 'Spires' (as they are known amongst the people of our domain -- and several of its neighbours) are thought responsible for the destruction of our very soil. There is no doubting the gravity of our present circumstances.

As second to the Governor, I am hereby assuming leadership of the Myrken Wood Judiciary, until such time as Governor Altias Bromn can return whole to the position; it is my most sincere hope that this will prove possible, and with haste. This letter requests reports on the matter of the Governor's warrants, all resulting arrests, and all attacks upon the Governor and upon Duke Burel's men from Captain Daniels. It requests a meeting of all adressees at the soonest possible time for discussion of these reports and the matters listed above. It is my intention to table a hearing in which those named upon the Governor's warrants -- and the Governor himself -- may speak their piece upon the matter.

Explanations are vitally necessary, at this juncture. I cannot emphasise enough that we must act, Gentlemen: act immediately and, most importantly, decisively. Myrken Wood must know that it has not been abandoned.
