Werewolf

The moon cast it's light over all, the uncommonly clear, quiet night interrupted by a lone way station, not that far from the town of Myrkenwood itself. It was a small place, one where travelers who didn't care to travel the forest road at a late night could get a bite to eat, a place to sleep- and perhaps some pleasurable company for the night.

It was one such couple that emerged from the fogged, brightly lit and merry interior, a frowsy woman who looks as if she just -barely- passes an appropriate age limit and a tipsy, wigged "gentleman" (hardly deserving of the name) with a look of a merchant. Uproarious laughter came from the latter as the former led him along, towards the back of the station, closer to the forest- for privacy, of course.

It depends on your views whether or not what was fortunate; the man gives one last, loud burp, pausing as the woman begins messing around with his shirt ties, and immediately keels over. Had too much to drink, this one. His scent was almost overpowering. The girl doesn't look all that disappointed; as soon as his rumbling snores fill the air, she quickly and efficiently goes through his pockets, leaving just enough to make him think he well-spent that money on ale.

Ah, but she was watched. Not a noise was made as bulk is shifted in the undergrowth. The forest was safety. Freedom. Not much else would penetrate that brain, so changed by chemical signals brought on by only three things- emotions. The Moon.

And hunger.

Just a touch of his true self remained now, enough to remember Adara had followed along on this hunt. He turned slightly at the soft rustle of underbrush behind him. Urges were repressed again, when tempted to harm her … the one who had seen him out of the tavern safely. Leftovers of that old power, the one that could never exactly remember. And he would not remember what happens next.

A target presented itself; the girl bent over the man's drunken body, fingers dipping into his purse strings. That is when he struck; crouched low over the ground, he moved swiftly, an arm shot forth to encircle the wench's waist, black-clawed hand clamped over his widening mouth as she tried to scream, eyes immediately rolled back in her head as she went limp in a faint. That... was no fun.

Biske pulled back with his prize, back into the protection of the forest. He growled lowly as he passed by the scent of Adara, who had waited and watched the scene play out. Again he was mentally rebuked, the growl grew into a snarl as he bolted, carrying the woman as if she weighed nothing.

Only later, away from prying ears and safely hidden, would he relish in her screams, claws tearing into tender flesh, teeth held from that fatal bite until he himself was satiated, the beast that had been awakened by another female in the Dagger. It was only then that he killed her, tearing her throat out with his teeth, enjoying the heady, coppery scent of blood as it drenched him, driving him into a different frenzy; he fell to the corpse, devouring whatever he could get his teeth and claws on. The woman was reduced to a pool of blood and chunks of things too thick to be blood… meat. Finally, the nightmare ends; drowsy with his meal, Biske curls beside the mutilated corpse, fevered eyes faded to a close as he sleeps a merciful, dreamless sleep.

Later he would awaken, a scream of horror and rage emerging from his throat, slick hands gripped his hair as he stared at the destruction he had caused. He was finally able to tear his gaze from the messy remains, and lurch forth in a panic, fevered body being led, as if through some magnet, to Myrkenwood- and the Edificium.

Biske staggers forward, wiping slick hair back from his face, leaving long streaks of darkness on his pale face. He slams his shoulder against the door, breath rasping as his hand fumbles for the doorknob.

Again she is at the desk attempting to finish the never ending paperwork. A glance up made however and she looks towards the door curiously.

Biske finally manages to grip it, twisting it fruitlessly a couple of times before managing to push it inwards, stumbling as his body goes with it. "Aeri!" he wails, stumbling inwards. He definitely doesn't sound too good.

She jumps and rises from her chair nearly toppling it over, only to run towards him. A puzzled look upon her features made.

And as soon as she'd draw close, Biske would reach out to her, in an attempt to grab her shoulders in blood-slicked hands- in fact, just about every inch of him is covered in it, eyes brungin hellishly in a feverish light, canines bared in anguish.

She blinks and freezes. She knew not to scream. It would only set him off. Instead she attempted to draw him more inward so the guards did not see him. Her dress covered in bloodied patches.

Biske allows himself to be drawn, though he keeps his hands firmly clamped on her shoulders. "I killed 'er," he whispers, horrified. "I... I lost it..."

Again she blinks. He killed who? The kitty woman? She gave him a puzzled expression but managed to kick the door closed behind them and tried to move to a empty room.

Just some random wench he found. No one important. But he pulls away, slick ropes of blood still attatching him to Aeri. "I'm gonna be sick," he mutters.

She attempts to put him in a chair if he allowed it and handled him a bucket. If released she would then find more buckets and rags. First thing was to wash the blood away then ask questions later.

Biske slumps into the chair, grips the bucket with white knuckles, and proceeds to loosing his lunch, dinner, and... little snack. Aeri might not like the very recognizable parts. They didn't have time to digest much.

She tried hard not to get sick herself and waited for him to get done then covers the bucket with a cloth. She then nods to the buckets and indicated he take a -bath-. She would clean the mess up later. Once he was calm, she would discard the bucket and contents.

Hands shaking so bad that he nearly sloshes out all the water, Biske dumps the first bucket over his head, shaking it vigorously with a gasp to try and get the blood out of his hair. He pulls his shirt off quickly- well, those bandages were a bit useless now, all damp as they were, balls it up, and flings it with rather more force than needed. He then starts scrubbing at his face.

The bucket and contents discard where none would ever find it. She waited till Biske was done cleaning himself off them motioned him into the main room with towels. The mess then cleaned up and shirt taken to burn and discard too along with the rags. She then moved to a closet and drew out a shirt that might fit, with bandages and healing sauve placed. She held up her hand and moved back to another room and remove her dress to put on a clean one. With this done she would then discard it all so there was no trace of this -murder- Ones disappear all the time in Myrken Wood. It is what Suede would of done. She came back and looked at him again to make sure he was calm then motioned for him to sit.

Biske just sits in his chair, fingers tangled in his damp hair, staring at the floor. The only movement is a shiver now and then as he waits. Doesn't even look up at her, even. He looks calm enough, at the moment, though he definitely does not look well.

The elf approaches him slowly and then attempts to place the healing sauve back on his wounds and bandage him once again. The shirt then handed to him as she takes a chair and sits across from him, waiting..

Biske is quiet through the whole proceedings, body hot despite the dousings. He numbly pulls the shirt on, then loops his fingers together, bloodshot and red-rimmed eyes lifting to stare rather disconcertedly at Aeri. "I don' r'member. Gods, why can I not r'member?!" The man clutches his hair, pulling it taunt, rocking back and forth, eyes wide in horror. It's not the first time he'd killed someone, no. Nor the first in which he's actually consumed them. But for every time it was a horror reknewed, an experience that he could never harden himself to, despite nearly 26 years of his... affliction.

She watches him quietly for awhile then writes upon the tablet. "We must find a way for you to control the beast within during these times. Perhaps a mage can help. Somehow I feel there is still hope."

Biske reads, nostrils flaring and teeth gritting. "Ye'll not... magic users... all full o' bogus 'cures'. All of 'em 'urt, all of 'em do nothin'! How d'you think it'll be any better?" Biske voice is starting to reach an hysterical scream.

She attempts to try and calm him, writing again. "Perhaps not magic but a ward of sorts. A item to keep with you always to control the beast within during those times."

This -does- calm Biske down. At least, it gets him to release his hair and rubs his eyes wearily. "... C'n it work, though? An' who'd make it? I don' have much money..."

She writes again. "Let Suede and I worry of such. I'll discuss it with him and see what he can come up with. He has friends who might beable to help too."

Biske starts looking a little hopeful, though his fevered eyes only increase in intensity. "An' it'll really work?" He sounds excited, but he's starting to reach the end of his adrenaline-induced state.

She nods slowly. She noted she would need a new tablet soon but wrote again. " If I can find the right stone it should. The rune will protect you if worn when in that state. I will have to make it give you a mild shock however if you try to remove it. Call it training so when you are feral you will leave it alone and let it calm you."

Biske looks a bit leary of that, but he nods- after all, it's only sane. And practical. "Thank yeh. For... doin' all this f'me." He gets a bit pale again. "C'n I stay 'ere, maybe... hidden, some'ow? I don' want t'..." Left unsaid, though perfectly clear: to get caught out in the open, if someone misses the hapless, wandering wench and calls the Guard up.

She nods and motions him to follow her. He would be treated like a patient here. After all he had wounds that could get infected. A room with a single cot shown within with proper bedding. He would at least be comfortable.

Biske pushes himself out of his chair, moving cautiously. Lord only knows what Aeri thinks of him right now, and he didn't want to make her scream, or be afraid. He already moves past her and makes a beeline to the cot, mumbling another thanks. Hope she doesn't take it too personal.

She attempts to give him a reasurring smile. She knew exactly what he was going through as she did before. Fear was the worst factor. A extra pillow was given to him for more comfort then she gently pats his shoulder if allowed. The tablet wrote upon again then left upon the cot. "I know what you feel and dispite it all, you are a friend. Somehow Suede and I shall help thee. Sleep well, my friend." With that she slips out and moves back to the desk to finish her paperwork.

Biske simply watches her go, pillow held loosely in his large hands. Finally he folds his arms around it, cot creaking as he settles his bulk. Clutching the pillow firmly, curled up on his side, Biske lies awake for only a moment more before finally sinking into the first good sleep he's had for a week.

Once the Edificium quieted down and only snores heard, only then did the elf lay down the quill and then her hands would cover her face as silent sobs shook her form. The horror has started again.

Sometimes you have to question your own sanity, and one of those times would be the dead of night... in a really dark forest... where a lycanthropy crazed friend of yours had taken it upon themself to slaughter a girl.

It just so happen Suede was in this situation. Apparently the fool had let his own urges get the better of him and then run off to the Edificium. The tailor had heard word of this and gone off to clean up any mess? Helping a friend? He wouldn't admit it, more likely he'd claim if it got back to Biske, the guard would question associates, which included this tailor.

So there he was, lost in the underbrush of the forest following Canthag of all people, whom was currently on all fours... checking for tracks, or sniffing the ground... something like that. He had no desire to ask, he just knew the elf could find what they needed. The two had also brought along another, Kyle. Nobody talked much about the man, but he tended to do the dirty work which often included the disposal of bodies.

All three had reached for dark cloaks to hide their forms in, hoods pulled close and a scarf over each face. There was no need to risk anyone catching their faces on the scene if a patrol should happen to wander near. The three appeared as little more then shadows darting about the trees when they moved, something best left to its own volition.

"This way..."

A simple statement Suede was more then glad to hear as the blotch of darkness at his feet took off through the trees again. A blink to collect himself and the tailor was off in chase once again. Several minutes passed before his foot caught on something. A loud yelp of suprise, then an oof as he found himself slammed between the other men, arms and legs flailing as some insidious mass of evil... or three strooges.

"What the Hell was that Canthag, what happened?" Kyle's muffled voice rang out from somewhere near the tailor's stomach, a curt reply following from beneath his back.

"I trip over something, how should I know, I have the pervert sitting on my neck!... OW!"

Good swift smack to the head can shut anyone up. Once the three managed to disentangle themselves and took a moment to observe their surroundings, a much more solemn air befell the little clearing they found themselves in. It appeared Canthag had tripped over the remnants they had been seeking in the first place, it seems he was a fairly descent tracker afterall... just unobservant... however oxymoronic that was.

The stench of blood and death danced across the breeze, fouling each breathe Suede took in, and not even his scarf served to filter much of the wretched scent. He was first to turn away from the gory scene of pooled blood and torn flesh, the tree across the way seemed far more interesting a sight at the moment.

"Get rid of it." The only words spoken for the remaining time in the woods. Kyle worked quickly, and with some aid of their druid friend one would be hardpressed to find any sign of the events which had occurred earlier that night. One body left the clearing alone, heading deeper into the night with crows at his back, intent on making his new package fade from the Earth by whatever means come across first.

This left Suede and Canthag together. Neither moved for quite a while, lost in their own worries. The tailor was having serious doubts about letting anyone near Biske any more, or if he could trust the man not to hurt anyone else. A sudden flash of a different person under Biske's claws left the blood hot in his viens.

Grunting to the greenhaired elf, both took off back for town, Biske being lucky that the long walk gave Suede time to calm.

Death

Postby Eriks » Tue Aug 12, 2003 4:48 pm

Biske and Suede had argued many times before this. They had both threatened, Suede had gone to the Guard; and still Biske had slept with Jirai, which appeared to be the last straw.

Despite Jirai's best efforts, Biske lunged at Suede, the tailor running deeper into the forest with a transforming Biske on his heels; she had, soon enough, been left behind.

Burel had investigated the howlings, sending a scout and two guardsmen to report back to him.

Jirai, still tracking the pair, came upon the patrol. Which no longer could be considered a patrol; torn limb from limb, blood splattered throughout the clearing, something peckish had decided these would be just right for a snack.

At midnight, Biske showed up at the Edificium, where Jirai had also retured; the drowess carrying a scrap from Suede's tunic, slashed and bloodied; the werewolf covered in blood, only a torn pair of Guard's pants held for modesty's sake.

He left soon after, supposedly to hide in the forest.

A letter had been written, more of a brief note, actually, a curt detailing of what the dark elf had seen that night. It was folded, Aeri's name written on it, and left at the Edificium, along with the bloody piece of the tailor's shirt. And then the dark elf was gone.

The elf had stopped off at the Edificium late that night after visiting the two women in the gaol. A letter with her name upon it found and bloody piece of what looked to be of a shirt. The shirt looked familiar and upon closer examination she found the elven symbols she had sewed on for Suede. The cloth dropped as she shook and read the letter.

Aeri,

Biske had gone crazy. He chased after Suede and I'm not sure what happened. I found this blood covered shirt on the ground. There were three bodies of Duke Burel's soldiers as well. Suede is missing and when I caught up with Biske, he remembered nothing.

Jirai

She crumpled the letter and let it drop where the shirt lay and ran out of the Edificium in search of her husband.

“Aeri?” Yes, we were subtle tonight? The swordswoman could have sworn she had just seen the elven healer enter the hospital. She had only turned away for a second. The place was quiet, but most places were quiet this time of night.

She had been hoping to snag the elf for a quiet chat, mostly to explain why she had been so glaring absent over the past week. So much for that. Itanya’s boots stopped just before she stepped on a crumpled slip of paper on the ground. Nearby was a torn and bloody piece of cloth.

Frowning, concerned, She smoothed out the note and read it. A low harsh growl echoed from her lips. Not wanting to wake anyway, or answer any questions if she did. Itanya tucked both the note and the slip of cloth into her pouch and slipped out.

If she was quick, she might be able to find Aeri. Hopefully before the healer found something that neither of them would really want to see. The swordswoman muttered under her breath. “Oh yeah, real quiet normal place here.”

The mid wife walked out of her room, wathcing the comotion lightly and with a blank stare. She was always the last to know but that was of no fault of anyone's but her's. Rasing her brow with a pouch in her hand from the market for Jirai she looked over to the Swordwoman she had seen before with a slight nod and a growling voice like one who had just woken up " What's all the comotion about here huh?"
