Warrants

Kilborn wasn't quite like others in this aspect. There was no public ourcry at any rate about events. Instead, a private posting of images set up within the guardhouse itself. And of course, directions given to Corporals and Sergeants to take a look at the images, and read the reports on the individuals

New, among the outstanding warrants, stood three sheets. The first was pretty much straightforward, considering how many times her name had popped up one way or another within the barracks.

Alexi Rose : Wanted for aggravated assault upon a respectable and dignified woman of repute. Wanted *Alive*

the others however, were explained a little bit more cautiously, though accompanying images would express in relative certainty, what their expected appearance would be.

Thomas Harding, Mage (OOC Note: Equivalent of John Doe.)
Charges: Conspiracy and aiding and abbetting a criminal.
A rough sketch accompanied the post, as well as warning not to approach heedlessly. The man was a powerful mage capable of lightning bolts and teleportation efforts. At the very least. Assumed to be dangerous. Rumoured to be Lady Rose's brother. Last seen in her company. Alive *only*

Thomas Harding, Priest. (OOC Note, again, name unknown)
Chargaes: Aggravated Assault upon Myrken Wood Officials. Aiding and abetting a criminal. Attempted Murder.
The rough sketch that accompanied this one was a bit cleaner and clearer than the other image. A better glance had obviously been gained. The image and note both highlight that the man was wearing heavy armour. It describes the man as claiming to be of a church, wielding a heavy warhammer. Considered very amoral and dangerous. Wanted.

(OOC:Rough sketch is of Denzil. Accuracy is touch and go. A bit difficult to place confirm absolutely. The other image is of Dominion. More accurate, as a better look was obviously obtained.)

Eyes perused the parchment from afar. Through the dream-sleep that he often fell into on more and more occasions. Soft laughter spilled into the chamber he rested in as the words were read. A warrent. For his detainment. Soft laughter once again...

But he would heed it. He was, after all, of a particularly lawful bent. Even if it -was- his own law. So a letter was penned, in a bold and powerful hand. Scripted letters wide.

Dear Guards of the Order...

I have read your warrant for my arrest, and so I have answered it. Though not in person as your Lieutenant Kilborn has requested. Not yet, at least. I understand that he lingers, as I write this, in bed from injuries taken in the line of duty. For this man, who puts his life before danger, I will come. But only for the Lieutenant.

Denzil la`Mortis

The pen was dropped and then set aside. A small smile for it, then he sent it along the wind. It would be delivered before the sun rose this next day.

One should always be drunk. That's all that matters... But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk. - Charles Baudelaire

To reply to a letter.

Postby Tyralor » Sun Jun 15, 2003 9:43 pm

There had been a bit of a problem all told, with the letter that he eventually cast his eyes upon. Alright. Denzil La`Mortis had a name now at least. Which was one step forward if nothing else.

He settled down at his desk with a slow motion, and a pained expression. He really, should not be out of the hospital just yet. However, other events had taken him away from the rest he had earned, preventing him from lingering overly long.

At the very least, this meant that he could spend a while, trying to figure out how to reply to a letter, that he did not know where he was going to send it. If he knew that, a group of guards would've been dispatched some time ago to bring the man in.

In the end, there was only one thing that he could do, while picking up a pen and quill for the other task set before him. A member of the staff summoned, and details explained. Simply word spreading of Lieutenant Kilborn's devotion to duty, and the Order. Still grievously injured, he was within the Headquarters once again. Hopefully the comments would reach Denzil's ears and he'd arrived. Naturally, instructions were set for a pair of guards to be escorting Denzil to Kilborn's office, should he actually show up at the gate.

Those arrangements made, and a sip of bourbon to fight off the lignering pain in his belly, he set about drafting up the paperwork he had to contend with now.

He was interrupted briefly, by a rap on the door. and the delivery of a letter not addressed to him. Sent by Aeri, through the guards. It was set aside for now, to be read later, when convienant.

Arrest report for Lady Alexi Rose

Charges:

Assault upon Ariane Carnath-Emory.
An event witnessed by a patrol and Lt. Kilborn himself.

Assault upon Dhugal MacPharlan.
A confession heard by Lt. Kilborn. Dhugal and Aeri witnesses.

Harrassment: Pending
Sources state that Alexi Rose was again found in proximity to the vampire-child Phlynn. Unsubstantiated at present. Question Phlynn and other possible witnesses.

Flight from Arrest: Pending
Lady Alexi Rose and a companion, magicked themselves away on June 14th, evading detainment by the guards. It is not known yet, if Lady Rose pursued these efforts willingly, or was taken by force. Ref: Denzil La`Mortis. Abductor?

Sentencing:

Gaol - Five days.

Additional Notes:

Alexi Rose turned herself in willingly, and was escorted without a fuss to the gaol, shortly after the stroke of Midnight, upon June 16th. It is the recommendation of this officer, that should she be found guilty of the other pending crimes, she faces fines, rather than additional time within the gaol.

A suspicion was raised, by Aeri Elven Priest, that Alexi's mind may not be her own. It may be a wise consideration, to notify the Lord or Lady Inquisitor, of her state and seek out their recommendation.

It is also this Officer's reommendation, that upon release, that Lady Rose is assigned a curfew, to limit the danger she may face, or pose in the immediate future.

Kilborn had appended a few notes to the report., making it more elaborate than the bulk of the hasty paperwork he shuffled through this evening. Even while many others were loathe to admit it, Lady Rose was a member of the aristocracy. Which meant that she had to be handled a little bit more carefully. And this evening, he had definitely witnessed that she was not the most loved woman in exsistance. It boggled his mind of course, that she did not have a retinue of bodyguards in attendance more regularly. She needed it. Unless of course, she couldn't find anyone unscrupulous enough to turn a blind eye when she kicked people down hills.

The report, in this case, was sent off to Thomas Daniels. He could review it, make decisions, or send it back to Kilborn and let Kilborn follow through as Kilborn saw fit. It was unlikely that either of them were going to be invited to Alexi Rose's next tea party.

More Warrants...

Captain Thomas Daniels read the report the moment he found it in his office. It was clear enough, to the point - made it certainly easier on him, what with the large stack of reports just next to it that he had to read in the next couple of hours. There was one small detail the captain had a question about, one that he was trying himself to answer the other day before Audmathus dropped by to start chaos.

To Lieutenant Joshua Kilborn, in response to the arrest report of Alexi Rose:

In your report of the incident concerning Alexi Rose and Ariane Carnath, you stated that you had come upon them after the fight had started. Now this is very important - I've heard that Alexi Rose may have been acting in self-defense against Ariane Carnath. We certainly can't charge her for that. If it's true, then it's a charge on miss Carnath, and not miss Rose. I'll look into that.

The rest stands. Proceed as you will.

Also, I feel I should reiterate on an assumption I made to you previously - the shooter I spoke probably isn't the same. It was the same *style*, and after talking around more closely, it was just the assumption of the poor fellow who reported it to me. Just visiting from Derry, and already he's seen a couple crossbow shootings. Nonetheless, keep your eye out.

- Captain Thomas Daniels

While he was at it, Thomas took the time to write up another warrant himself. Actually, there were about a dozen he could've written up, but the perpetrators hadn't shown themselves in sometime. Hopefully they left Myrkenwood. Better things have happened, right?

[line][/line]

Warrant for Audmathus:

Charges:

Assault on Thomas Daniels.
Gad Phuri had apparently been the original target.

Non-consensual Hypnosis on Quincy Randall: Pending
It is suggestible under the conditions of one encounter with the criminal that Quincy Randall is under some sort of mind control. Witnessed by Thomas Daniels, Ariane Carnath, Dhugal MacPharlan, and a one 'Joker'.

Evasion of Arrest.
On two different occasions.

Additional Notes:
The man is dangerous, folks. Use full caution if you encounter him. At this point I'm doubting he'll allow himself to be taken into custody alive, so we're going to need to be especially tricky to bring him in.

To Captain Thomas Daniels

In regards to the charges against Lady Alexi Rose's assault upon Ariane Carnath-Emory. The charges do not stem from the individual who instigated the fight. Rather, it was after a clear call had been made for them to cease and desist, which Ariane heeded, setting her weapon aside. Lady Alexi Rose ignored the call, and instead chose to try to gouge out Ariane's eye. The maliciousness of such a motion, after the other combatant had ceased struggling, I did not feel could be ignored.

I hope this answers your queries adequately.

Kilborn makes a few things known.

To Captain Thomas Daniels
Order of Straka, Myrken Wood

I have little doubt that you will recieve word soon enough of the events that have transpired in the Gaol this evening. I will also stress my own patince on the matters dealt with are wearing thin.

This matter is of sufficient distaste in my mouth and stomach, and recently fresh enough thast I shall not include a summary of events until such a time passes that permits me to calm down.

This, however I will set down in ink and for you to understand. My working relationship with Alexander Kanashia has invariably been filled with turmoil. To a degree, this has affected my perception of you. I will not deny that. His promotion of a Corporal to the rank of Captain has left a great many of us shouldering a good deal more work, myself and Duvall most of all, while you find your footing. Despite this, I have cautioned the men to be patient with you, and let you set an distinguishment of your own. Something, I have been watching for myself.

Alexander Kanashia accused me several times this evening, of seeking the position of Captain myself. I wish to be clear and concise in this. I have been offered the position of Captain, and other more rewarding tasks, on seven seperate occassions. In merely two of those, was the possibility set before a commitee, and another promoted in my stead. The other occassions, I turned down on my own accord. I have no desire to replace you. It remains my hope, that unlike Alexander Kanashia, there is no need or requirement to replace you.

Furthermore, I plan on penning a missive to the current councillors on the morrow as well. In it I have plans to be blunt, and request an audience before them upon a number of subjects.

Events I would like to discuss with you, at length, before I make public, some of the problems facing the Order of Straka at present.

Lieutenant Joshua Kilborn.
Order of Straka

It had taken him a while to pen that, and then walk up to the Captain's office himself. Deliver it himself to the Captain if present, though he did not wait for the man to read the sealed material. He still had paperwork to work up and concepts of bail to set as well. And the Captain looked busy, trying to get a handle on the paperwork.

Overall though, by the point in time this had become, he was smiling to himself, if a bit smugly. True, he might have only delayed the 'Governor' on this day. Preventing him from releasing either Alexi Rose or Ariane Carnat-Emory from the gaol, with various claims, and a good deal of name calling as well. Not, admittedly, that Kanashia had been alone in that account. As he'd said, his patience had worn thin. Nonetheless, he'd have much to say on the subject, either to Daniels or the Council. Or both.

Still. There was one other thing that amused him. A discussion with one of the offers he had turned down had left a few notions in his mind. While he would not alter his mind upon them yet, he was permitted, to a degree, to fantasize about some of the possibilities it held. Nothing he could pursue in good conscience, but the pleasant notion was just that. Pleasant.

Then back to his desk to continue his own mounds of paperwork. Injuries were good for one thing. Made sneaking away from such tasks a decided bit more difficult.

Arrest report for Instructor Ariane Carnath-Emory

Charges:

Assault upon Lady Alexi Rose.
Seeking to right a wrong wrought against the vampire lad, Phlynn, Ariane pursued Alexi Rose violently. Supporting witnesses of a 3P Captain-Lieutenant, and Ariane's own verbal confession.

Posing as an guardsman.
While Ariane is a member of the staff, she is not presently employed as a guardsman. Various sources support the claim she uttered a statement similar to "I am taking you into the Gaol for your crimes" to Alexi Rose, despite there were no outstanding warrants for Lady Rose's arrest. - I consider this to be a crime of miscommunication.

Sentencing

Gaol - 2 Days
Suspension from pay and duty. - 1 week, concurrent.

Additional Notes:

Like Lady Alexi Rose, Ariane turned herself in willingly, when presented with a viable opportunity. She made no efforts to flee or resist.

Ariane's actions should not preclude her from continuing service as an assistant trainer in the future. At present, her injuries require time to recover additionally, and limit her effectiveness regardless.

It is suggested that her sentence, as well as Alexi Rose's both be reduced by one day, following a payment of 200 Shillings as bail, to further maintain their good behaviour.

Did you ever wonder what happens when there's dirt on the "Bat Signal?" It wouldn't even look like a bat anymore. Maybe they'd accidentally summon a superhero named "Misshapen Blob Man." I bet he weighs 900 lbs. and comes in the "Misshapen Blobmobile." And the cops go, "Aaah! Clean the lens!" And his theme could be the Batman song at about 10 R.P.M.

OOC: A Note about the Warrants

Postby Rattrap » Tue Aug 05, 2003 11:09 am

A little matter came to my attention (if you could call it a 'matter'; that seems like some sort of bad thing, or problem - but it's really just a device, one could say) and Matt and I discussed it and decided a little something 'bout the warrants...for IC information.

First - the warrants here aren't public - at least not anymore. So it's more for guards' use. I can't imagine this kind of information leaking out, either, 'cause who would just stand around and talk about warrants? Even guards posted in boring places have better things to talk about.

Second - the above changes if there's something like 'Public Notice' attached to it or something. Y'know, like wanted posters. We figured that would probably happen to warrants for people who weren't getting caught; first, see if you can't catch them unawares, second, see if you can't get good folks to help you out.

Third - I think there's only three of us who've written up warrants, and two of us were discussing it before hand anyway...but regardless! Just in case anybody else decides to, if we could put something like 'Filled' or 'Completed' or 'Arrested' at the top or bottom of the warrant, that'd just make life a tad easier. Less questions, anyway...so...yeah.

That said, I've got another to write up...if only I could remember for whom... :)
