Jarod had been caught. The man Catch liked to refer to as "The Eyeless Egg" was now perched inside Catch's home in Myrken, looking over the battered body of the big man. Several fingers had been snapped to prevent him from working those damned spelled, and his jaw was most assuredly broken, to keep him from talking to the spirits. Now, to figure out placement.
He studied the lay out of the room like a eagle looking for a mouse, then got up, moving slowly. He rearranged the room, moving things off the wall directly opposite the entry-way, and positioned a few mirrors to his liking. Now, no matter where one looked in the room, the wall would the visible. Hiren truly was an artist at work today. He snapped the legs off a chair and moved over to the wall. Eyeballing Jarod's height, he murmured a spell, and slides the chair legs into the wall, as if it were soft mud. The wall becomes solid again, and he does the samething where he wants Jarod's feet.
Next, comes the fun part. He slips two plain rings on Jarod's fingers. One on each hand. One keeps him in a coma, and the other will sustain him. NO use having the boy starve to death while Catch is in the hoosegow, now would it?
Next, he hangs Jarod by the new posts in the wall. That will keep him supported. He rubs a bit of oil on the posts and the baseboard to make them invisible, just to perfect the illusion. Then.. he spreads first Jarod's right arm to one side, and produces a large roofing spike.. and hammers his hand into the wall, and repeats the process for the left side. For the final piece of his masterpiece, he places a perfect replica of his white mask over Jarod's face.
Like a surgeon, the Egg makes a few cuts on Jarod. Nothing serious, he just wants him to bleed, so there will be a nice coating running down the wall for Catch when he returns.
The final step is perhaps the most genius. He produces one of his weights.. one that had been stabbed into Catch, and was coated in his blood, and begins another spell. This time, he sets up a trigger. Anyone else walking into the house will see everything as normal, but once Catch walks in.. the illusion ends, leaving Jarod in full view for the boy's amusement.
He only has one final thought as he is fading into the shadows. "I better get a bonus for this.."
