In dreams, darkness

In dreams, darkness

Lamp light flickered against the moist stone walls. Silence, which seemed to hold a thrumming sound despite itself, hung in the cave like moss upon a tree. If one listened long enough, held their breath and really listened, they might hear the almost silent sound of pages turning somewhere in the near darkness.

Upon piles of pillows glimmering various shades of red, he reclined, the tattered tome within impossibly long and delicate fingers. The light of the oil lamps just enough to throw deep shadows upon the angular features. Just enough to view the pages with those shimmering eyes.

How many months? Had it in fact been years? The one called Michael Renne once more safe within him. The Dream Witch gone once more in search of her precious Baie. That thought drew a derisive snort from the lounging male. Thadius Dhrin lost in madness as was ever his way. So quiet had Myrken become. Only the usual threats of politics and pride to plague her.

Prime had grown...bored. The silence had been cathartic in its time, but now it was simply silence. Perhaps, he thought with a chuckle which broke the silence like a rock through a window pane, it was time to see just how her citizens had fared these long days.

Thin and lithe the creature rose. Tresses of silken ebony hanging in loose waves around his black velvet clothed form. It was time to go visiting. Time to see what time itself had changed in lovely Myrkenwood.
