A restful morning

A restful morning

Getting home was the hard part.

It had taken a week for the guards to finally decide to come free Governor Phuri, but he was finally home. What did that mean for Gad?

It meant Gad could come home at something like two or three in the morning, gorge himself in his very own kitchen, and waddle slowly off to his room to squeeze his bloated carcass into a nightgown. It meant that he would get a good nine or ten hours of sleep.

At present, Gad is still snoring his head off. He's not had a chance to shave away the week's growth of silvery stubble, to dye his hair afresh, or to see about having his arm (still in its makeshift cast) properly fixed up. However, he's sleeping in his own warm, fluffy bed. Isn't that enough?
