* The Temurian prince, Altan, on a conciliatory visit to an estranged cousin living privately in northern Amaysinia, discovered a destroyed village.
* Later, his entourage was attacked by those responsible; a ravenous band of cannibalistic, barbaric berserkers.
* Barely escaping with his life, Altan and his surviving men reached the Broken Dagger.

* At the Broken Dagger, Altan and his men spoke with Iome, Tyreal, Aeri, and a mysterious woman known only as the Corvid.
* At the Corvid's sanctuary, Altan and his men rested. She explained that she has encountered this enemy, the Horde, before, and that the situation is far more dire than it seemed; the warband is only the outer tendrils of a colossal invading army.
* Altan encountered Azura, a paladin of the Dirian race, in the woods near the Corvid's sanctuary. The Dirian people ruled the civilisation of Soralon, which had once enslaved Altan's people before the Prince won their freedom and left to found Temuria.
* Altan left with the Corvid in tow, for Temuria to warn his people and begin to gather aid. He sent to Myrken Wood in his place, Vinter Danesti, his most trusted aide and an experienced diplomat. (As seen here)
* Vinter arrived in Myrken Wood and, upon reaching the tavern, had the good fortune to encounter Duke Burel and speak with him about the threat of the Horde.
* Vinter attended the first of two council meetings, presenting his case before the Council and before Rayin Taliaferro and Duke Burel. The response was beyond his expectations; both powerful men pledged their nations' support in repelling the barbarian invaders. The possibility of a Myrken militia, should the enemy break through, was also mentioned.
* Vinter returned to the second, emergency meeting to discuss troop movements and timing issues, and to formalise the agreement with Phuri and the Myrken Council to allow the Temurian, New Dauntless and Thessaline armies movement through Myrken to block the menace.
* Altan reached the Temurian gate and returned home. The whereabouts of the Horde are currently unknown; but the storm is gathering...

* A Temurian scouting company came upon the Horde's secret encampment upon the Devil Ridge. Violence ensued; and the scouts met a hideous end. One, however, escaped...his whereabouts are unknown. (The opening battle.)
