Glenn shook his head as he stared down at the letter. It was too early in the morning and he was far too tired. Who had taught her how to write anyway? She really must have been bored if she was sending him notes. Still, it was welcome. He had spoken briefly with Cinnabar about the Brotherhood and why the man seemed so very not pleased with them (more so than usual, that was). That was daily business in the government's scrapped together offices. He hadn't heard THAT much about Agnie, however, and what he did hear it was better to ignore, for Rhaena's sake if nothing else.

He pondered for a moment if the two of them were still supposed to battle someday. It was the reason that he had seriously taken up swordsplay in the first place, or at least the catalyst. That seemed so long now, though in truth it was only a few months. Agony had been the catalyst for a great deal in Glenn Burnie, the last straw that broke his resolve, that changed him. Myrken changes you, and damn it if there isn't a better personification for that fact than Agnieszka Kaczmarek.

Finally, exhausted and still rather shaken from the night before, he sat down to pen a response.

Agnie,

Good to hear from you. Rhaena misses you a lot. I guess I might, too.

You know, when you get back, if you want, I can help you with your writing. Don't go "There's Glenn Burnie being a damn know-it-all again. I hate him!" because that's not what this is about. It's a friendly offer. You have to care about it or else you wouldn't have taken the time to practice. I was stuck in a room in front of a desk for the first twelve years of my life learning to do shit like this.

I watch the Brotherhood spar and train a lot of days. I'm not allowed to spar with the First yet though, even thougn Aeryn wants me to. The recruits are SO far away too.

Get back soon and we'll spar, ok? You're not on my list of people I'm allowed to spar with, but I won't tell if you don't, right?
