The Paper Trail....

The Paper Trail....

The Journey to Heath could either be done the easy way or the scenic way...or the hard round about way..Or something similar to the later. It all really depended on the travelers knowledge of the area, and their need to either move quickly, or remain unseen.

The two that go towards Heath now, are traveling somewhere between them all. More a quick scenic unseen journey, that had them weaving on and off main roads, cutting through some less safe passages, and occasional dropping into or through a small community.

It was moving through such a village where they came to be at the edge of Hardendale. Nothing particularly interesting about the place, a touch smaller then Myrkentownship, and about as sleepy and sleepy towns get, the only excitment to be found was at the Golden Feather, a small watering hole. It was there the Gypsy told her compainion to meet in an hours time. It was there the Gypsy now sat off to the side, reading the second of two letters. Seems she had a reason for coming through this sleepy little town...It was part of her Paper Trail...

The smaller of the two women had no eye for scenery in the slightest - at least not this sort of scenery. It was all just an ugly necessity to her. They gypsy would find her a taciturn companion at the best of times, but this was likely not a surprise to Khalika.

With an hour's spare time, the carefully hooded female would, well, disappear. Not to fear - she'd be back in that hour - but no hint given of how she had occupied herself.

Some things were better left unknown.

The Golden Feather was a intriging place if one was in the know, its "offical" location is apart of the village of Hardendale, in the Land of Heath. But if one were to look upon the geographical maps where the boarder points of Heath, Derry, and Myrkenwood meet. There would the Tavern, resting upon the apex of those three territories. It was a crossroads, in so manyways like the Broken Dagger, there was something about the place that brought so many colorful characters. Yet it had yet to draw the danger of the Dagger, those who found the Golden Feather were of a different sort, a secret sort and sometimes a Mystic sort.

One the outside it was an everyday run of the mill tavern, main room, bar tables chairs. It was the other rooms that were of interest. Some were for hourly, night rental. But a few were left for the more private sect.

One perticular room was small, no chairs and only floor resting tables with pillows scattered about to give comfort to the few vistors who gathered about. It held a smokey filter to the air, heavily curtained windows kept the room hidden from the outside eye as a heavy scent of spice filled the air. Pungent and foreign, it seeped into the pours, of it vistors, invading every opening, mouth, nose eyes... It had a strange effect on some... Other simply cannot reside to long. Each table held a multi-armed Shisha, upon it. allowing the patrons to partake in any number of flavored dried herbs. Tobacco is the parimount though for it is used in trade, and in bargin, and in more spiritual aspect.

The Gypsy rest cross legged in a corner, a trickly of smoke drizzling from her lips, the notes she recieved layed out upon the table. Focus is what she seeked, for many were making her job more difficult, and Loyalties were contemplated. Beside her a shadowed man draped in light weaved material of rich crimson and azures. A dessert dweller to be sure. the man held a darker hue to skin then even the Gypsies...He whispered in foreign tongue and she nodded slowly. It was passed the hour meeting time but she knows the Drowesses Talent for finding people and things...She is sure it will not take her long to discoverer the lesser known rooms of the Golden Feather...

Certainly it would not take her long at all before the cloaked and hooded woman was stepping into the room. And now the desert dweller would have competition for the title of "darkest skinned person in the room." Or rather - not competition. He'd just simply lost that one.

The slender woman took a careful look about the odd room, nodding only slightly to Khalika.

The Gypsy eyes did not open, though her head dipped to the mans side as he spied the drow. She smiled and opened her eyes. A nod to the drow as she motioned for her to join them.

"Jirai...Met Fauji Mohammed Khan...He's a traveler, and is going to quicken are journey to Trellberg. It seems the time I thought we had is gone.."

She does not offer an arm, if the Drow wishes to partake in the herb it will be of her own accord. Khan watches the Drow closely, as he continues to whisper to the Gyspy. The Mystic seems quite taken with the dark skin woman, as he does the Gypsy leans foward so Jirai can read what she has learned about happenings around Myrken...

"Khan wishes to offer in the trade of blades...He has a thing for dark skin females..."

There is a slick smile upon the Gypsy's lips, as she takes another inhalation of the Shisha arm. The Dessert Traveler lays a jewel encrusted dagger upon the table, as Khalika translates he tell the stories of the blades many victims.

There would be a nod for Khalika, and a far more curt nod for the dark-skinned man. Then, ignoring both man and herbs, the woman was leaning in to scan over the gypsy's papers.

"That aligns well enough with what I have heard." Was her comment on that matter. And then the other woman brought up the stranger again, and Jirai's eyes narrowed slightly at Khalika. She did not seem impressed by the stories, but subjected the man to a more intent look.

"Maybe I should demonstrate my crossbow on him." She muttered. "How long do we stay here, gypsy?"

Chuckled she could just image the look on the Drowesses face when it went straight through. Perhaps she should tell her that Travelers of his race, and not fully there. Here in the wrapping of the golden Feather He is more tangiable then normal in this place that not only boarders three territories, but is also crossroads with a few shifting time scapes.

"Never if you don't sit down." She almost snapped, as she tries to find a quick solution to this severe break in protocol. Travelers are funny beings, they at times spend to much time in the between, that they miss small detail, such as female Drow dislike for anything male. though one could also lay blame upon the Gypsy for her translation was not as spot on as it could have been.

Another whisper to the travelers ear, and a nod as she slowly slides the dagger back into the folds of his manylayer..a sharp cut hiss, uttered from behind hidden features as his blue upon blue eyes sudden spark with radiance. His skin slowly deepening till it became a slick of black ink ever moving across his form.

"Oh crap...."Was all the gypsy, had time to get out before any mortal forms would have a sudden feeling of stomach lurches. She does hope the Drow is sitting for its ever worse when your standin, and equilbruim fails...

Oh, Khalika, if looks could kill... But the smaller woman did sit, and just in time as it happened. Fortunately, her curiosity has been roused, as the gypsy might noticed from her intent look for the stranger. And then the world -shifts.- It is uncomfortable, certainly, but not far removed from other methods of travel that the female has used before.

Khalika is not as traveled as the Drow, at least not in these fashions. She is actually somewhat Xenophobic about beings of a magical nature. This is mainly because of her run-ins with the Guardian Morrighan and her sisterhood. Khan was of a different sort, and his abilities were more mystic then magic, at least that is what she told herself, when she ran into him in the middle of a dessert. She thought him a mirage and not because she had gone four days without food or water. It was the fact that he stood before her rippling...

Three times she has accompanied him during the Laa ayn 'ala al'aqdaam, which in her limited understanding of his language translates loosely to "No where by foot". Each time it has left her feeling displaced for the momentary duration.

This time was no different, for what seemed like mere seconds they had crossed miles. Khan had once tried to explain how it exactly they move from place to place. and all she got out of it was “connect placesâ€

There came a derisive snort from the smaller woman. Not in the best of moods, apparently.

"Well enough." She answered the gypsy's question. "Let us get on with this."

Nods it was indeed time to get one with it.....

"Understood. The Lord of this ford is by name Lacrai Haurne, he is indebted to me in a great way. But does not consier me ally or friend. I am going to speak to him now. you Drowesses are the shadows, find Trellberg's secrets, those who have come and gone lately, and meet me in the great Hall....""

With that she began making her way towards the main route inside Trellberg, it was a massive draw bridge, for all that she has doen and will do. This is one she will regret...
