Tears by moonlight

A short trip thorough the forest....

Would lead her to Ikari's chosen grove. It was a good ways from Myrkenwood proper, and nontaxable by Ikari's figuring. He had already erected a small hut big enough for him and a few guests by this time. Ikari, not being much of a city-elf had began to find comfort in his solitude, in his pain, and in his sorrow. Despite the dank look of the hut's interior it seemed rather cheerful now, as if a new light had descended upon it.

Ikari opened the door to allow her to set foot within, as he reached inside, pushing the door out of her way he knocked over the near-empty bottle of whiskey he had set at the foot of his cot. However the lack of fluid within the bottle had prevented any from spilling onto the floor, a few remnant sips sloshed around inside. Ikari stepped in before her and hid the bottle against the wall. When he stepped back outside he waved an arm to guide her in.

"Welcome to my... Our new home."

Dawn was shedding its light into the forest, bright rays shining down on pandryl's scales warming the dragon. Heavy lidded eyes came open... turned towards the door of the hut.. inside his bond partner was sleeping.. wrapped warm in the arms her love... This did not worry Pandryl their bond was different Aliael had raised him, kept him safe he sought only to do the same for her. what did worry him was this other did not feel the same . yes he was an elf.. yes he had been a dragonride but there was something more... someting had changed him.

Stirrring Aliael came awake.. for a moment she did not know where she was it wasnt until she felt Ikari's arm shift against her that she remembered. A smile curved her lips and her mind reached out to Pandryl for she had sensed his worry *It will be alright Pandryl Ikari would never hurt me* all she got in response was a snorted Hmph. Lips twitched as this was a familiar reaction to such statements and snuggling down once more, her cheek pressed to Ikari's chest she would let her fingers trace the line of his shoulder, simply because she could.

A drowning soldier...

Postby jacktim » Sun May 20, 2007 11:42 am

Ikari had been drowning himself for years in bottles, seeking cheap thrills, dodging death and utter oblivion, even to the face of Death Gods. And yet Ikari still lived. His own element of torture fell over underneath the bed, a bottle of cheap whiskey, the last remnant of the poisons Ikari used to take in. The subtle clank jarred Ikari from a deep sleep. She was left laying in the bed his hand came to rest under her stomach, soft to the touch. He blinked a few times, he felt like screaming... oh the horrors in his mind. He turned to face the soft thing he touched, and smiled, his eyes going from a frightened yellow, to a peaceful pink. He stared back at her, "Good Morning my love..."

Sunrise?

Postby Sherazade » Mon May 21, 2007 6:58 am

Aliael knew what he had been doing she'd helped heal others of drinking problem after the destruction... She knew all the signs had heard the bottle falling over , she knew she could handle it, if he did not stop. Her thoughts she kept to herself of course.. or thought she did but Pandyrl heard them still he would not embrass her by showing that.

As he turned to face her Aliael smiled not knowing that to ikari it would seem as if the sun was rising in their very room. "good morning my love... so glad your not a dream" She would murmur softly in reply

The bottle on the floor...

Postby jacktim » Mon May 21, 2007 11:27 am

Ikari thought back to it for a moment. Had he forgotten how to be happy without it? Now that she was here, would he really need it? His thoughts drifted to the bottle and the thought of throwing it out. "What if I'm still dreaming... and I throw the bottle out for real.... " His mind became darkened for a moment, as his eyes turned a pale shade of blue. "Why do I despair?" His thoughts echo again. Even his face showed his mental struggle and discomfort.

"Why do you tease me gods?"

Aliael watched the expression flitting across his face... took note of the change in his eyes... He still wasnt sure this was not a dream. *What do I do to convince him this is real Pandryl.. How do I make him see* Her mind reached out to her bond partner to her dragon and she felt his presence flood her mind

*Bring him outside... Show him me, that we are bonded... Would his dreams show him such a sight*

It was the oddest suggestion he had made to date and yet it also made a lot of sense. Lashes fell for a moment before they lifted to unveil her gaze falling to Ikari's face "My Love I have something I should show you outside".

A dark soldier...

Postby jacktim » Thu May 24, 2007 3:20 am

Normally his response to something like that would be more along the lines of "There's nothing for me out there," but for her, he would follow off the edge of the world. So with her beckoning he simply nodded, took her hand, and said, "Show me my love."

And she would follow him.. Something she had proven by finding him.Rising from the bed, she would wait for him to do the same and then take his hand. To the door she would move then, making in swing open.

Sunlight streamed down, spilled over the golden scales of the dragon curled but a short distance from the door. hand extracted itself from his now and she closed the distance between her and this large creature. Sharp eyes would be able to spot the glowing brand on her palm, for it did face him.

Aliael lifted her hand as Pandryl stretched out his head brought it now to gently nuzzle her cheek "good morning to you to Pandryl" There was fondness in those words, tones of amusement as well "Were the sheep tasty?"

There was a huff of breath as pandryl drew back, turned his gaze towards Ikari, lips curling back in what could only be a smile.

"Hmph... One that won't eat me."

Postby jacktim » Sat May 26, 2007 9:12 am

He retorted at seeing the dragon smile. He would follow up by saying, "It's been nigh on a decade, about time I find one that didn't blame me for what happened... but forgive me if I still don't approach you yet, youngling." Ikari wasn't meaning to be rude... just keep his distance. He smiled at Alliael, "You've been feeding him too much... he's getting fat." He would chuckle now. Indeed the dragon was big, but he was fit for a young one, Ikari knew this better than most.

He'd be far too stringy and over sauced the dragons thought would be broadcast wider than normal likely reaching Ikari as well. as for Aliael she blinked looked between the both of them "i have not been overfeeding him.. " Arms folded over her chest her lips pressing into the thin line as she fought to contain the laughter that wanted to escape. for Pandryls comments had just sunk in fully

Over sauced indeed. Ikari took his drinking seriously, or at least he used to. In fact now he was fingering the flask in his pocket, wondering where best to dispose of the device. He'd been dry the past few days, scarcely a drop of fluid (other than water) had touched his lips. He eyed the dragon pensively and then turned back to his fiancé. "Yes you have... look at him, he looks like a scaly cow with wings..." He chuckled. He was saying a boldfaced lie. But at least she would know that.

Maybe i should eat him after all, oversauced as he is, i'd probably throw up everything recently swallowed. As he broadcast this thought his tongue would licked over scaly lips and the look he gave Ikari was wholly wicked. (Ahh yes eat drunkard elf myrkens best wieghtloss diet ever *had to*).

"He does not Ikari" She turned to offer the dragon a comforting pat just as she heard that thought and instead the pat became a slap to the snout as she fought to keep from breaking into giggles.

"Well, with as much as you abuse him, no wonder he's over eating..." Ikari said as a response to her slap to the dragon's snout. Ikari winked at the dragon. He had no idea the thoughts that were coming from the dragon, but perhaps the dragon would know that now was the time to pick on the rider... but then Ikari changed his mind. Shaking his head he faced his beloved, "but I digress, you're taking good care of him, and he, you. So perhaps I have you to thank, Master Pandryl." He nodded patting the dragon on the snout, "Thank you for taking care of Aliael for me." Ikari gave a full bow. "Thank you," he whispered again, "for bringing my life back to me."

"Where to now my love?"

Postby jacktim » Wed Jul 25, 2007 3:54 pm

He said, turning back to Aliael. "Through Time and tide have we been rejoined... but what new adventures await us? What call beckons in your heart? A distant journey to rouse some of our star-fallen brethren? A daring attempt at the liberation of dragons from the mounts of unscrupulous men? Or perhaps a more docile adventure... The hunt for breakfast?" He smiled to her, dragging an arm about her shoulder. The nagging notion in the back of his head, beckoning the bottle to his lips would be pushed far away as he felt his arm settle around her frame.
"Or perhaps your dragon-friend would give us an idea whitherto we should venture, aye?", Ikari's blood became refreshed as the prospect of some time with his long-lost lady came bubbling into his mind. "Where do our wiles point us?"

Through time, tide and troubles for both, and yet against all odds to the contrary, they had found each other again. Gaze drifting from Pandryl towards Ikari, she knew what they had to be doing now, just not where to begin. "We need to find other Dragon's, other riders. Its time to mend whats been broken" She would say no more now but await his reaction to those words.
