Regional Prosecutor Colonel Canton Lo, CC, watched his men hoisting seige equipment up on the outer walls of the 3P Trading Company's nearly completed Trade-Fort. It was a rather large affair, but it was conciderably farther away from the "Old World" then most of the Company's other posts and it was thought that a little extra work could go a long way. Given the recent track-record for posts, Canton was inclinded to agree. The Fort was constructed north and west from the famous Tavern, right near the river. A sufficent location, it was generally felt, although it was disapointing the river didn't readily connect to the sea.

The paperwork was all completed and everything was nicely legit, the way the Company always did things, and the past few months of monotonus construction had finally payed off. The fortress was a basic affair as far as their usual posts were concerned. It had thick walls, about a meter thick in most areas, and if one was to look at it from the sky it would be shaped very much like a star. The walls were not very high, only about fifteen feet, but a sturdy firestep would allow soldiers to comfortably ring the entire perimeter and enfilade into attacking enemy. A large building in the center, the administrative office, proudly displayed the blue-and-gold flag of the 3P Trading Company high above the walls, and smaller flags were on each of the walls star-points.

The gates were wide, wider then they would have been on a true military fort, to allow several columns of wagons to roll in and out. Business was the true purpose of this fort, after all, its defensibility was merely a cautionary measure, ment to check a recent trend of hostile aggressors roaming the various lands. The doors were thick wood, although they could be securely closed off with three thick, heavy bars of metal that would be slide across their length from either side.

Inside the fort things were conciderably more friendly appearing. Colourful banners were all along the small streets, and shops of all manners were packed in along the walls. A few of the shop stalls had yet to be filled even. Merchants from afar collected here and sold various items, herbs and potions, armors and weapons, horses and blacksmith items could be purchased here, including some very exotic things from far away lands. The prices weren't cheap, however, they couldn't manage to stock a fort like this with soldiers and protect it as well as they did and deliver bargain prices too.

One thing might catch the attention of a few -- a sign outside of the gates "Mischief will not be tolorated. No Undead Allowed -- This Inclues Vampires -- on Penalty of Death!"
