Tears by moonlight

Tears by moonlight

Postby Sherazade » Tue Apr 17, 2007 4:01 pm

Moonlight fell upon the still waters of the deep forest pool turned the golden hair of the kneeling woman to purest white. "I'm so tired.." The musical murmur fell into the silence as her fingers trailed through the water, sending ripples across its surface. Youthful elven features were pale and there were circles beneath her eyes she could see how the journey had taken its toll upon her. Still she could not linger any longer in her home without him... she had been driven to come in search of Ikari. Goddess how she missed him... her heart ached inside her bringing tears to her eyes, tears that rolled down her cheeks fell to the still rippling surface of the pool. "I miss you my love... so very much" She lay on the ground now her head pillowed in her arms... her gaze still upon the waters surface... thoguh she saw it not through the curtain of water and the tears that continued to fall. "I'll find you I swear I will" She sobbed finally turning her face into the grass.

And the moonlight continued to shine down upon her, the light summer breeze stirring through golden locks and rustling through the folds of her pale green gown.

How was she to know...

Postby jacktim » Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:35 pm

That he was but an arrow's flight away? Staring at the same pale moon? Basking in its same silver glow. Ikari laid back upon the grass and stared up at the sky. That same lonely moon now stared back at him. Ikari, now tired with his day's work, moved up into a tree for the evening. And to soothe himself to sleep he sang an old draconic tune, loud and yawning.

So much had become of this elf, since his days in the army of dragon knights back in his hometown. Destruction, scorn, prejudice, he was now an elf hated by men and dragon alike who lived in that town. And since then, he'd been lost found, sinned, redeemed, and a number of many other things...

Ikari had learned to sleep, an feat most unbecoming an elf. He had struck out in anger, and expressed deep emotions, it had seemed that Ikari was not the elf he once was, but was becoming more... human one might say.

His blue eyes cast one glance up to the sky, as his deep voice ambled out a few last lyrices before a yawn, sending Ikari off to sleep. His rest found only in the boughs of trees.

So Close

Postby Sherazade » Sat Apr 21, 2007 5:06 pm

Slowly something was breaking through into her grief... her loneliness and it began to chase away her exhaustion.... She knew that song, had heard it before... He sang that song.

Aliael pushed herself upright, her hands dragging her hair back from her still tear dampened face. Ears twitched amongst waves of gold as they sought the direction of the sound. Finally she thought she had it and pushed herself to her feet and began to move through the forest again. From her lips began to spill a song she had not uttered since they were parted. Notes and words lifted into the leafy boughs weaving a picture of soft breezes and moonlight and lovers exchanging secret vows.
And all the time she was drawing nearer, she was thinking... Could he really be so close.

An Unrestful Evening...

Postby jacktim » Sat Apr 21, 2007 5:49 pm

Something had been on Ikari's mind for the longest time, a recurring nightmare of his. First there are the minions, dressed in silver and crimson, carrying weapons and wands and staves and shields. Then next there were dragons, vicious and cunning, each bearing its own semblance of armor. Ikari glanced down from the shadowy glen he now sat in, down into the city about to be attacked. He flew down the side of the cliffs, angling over rock and nook, and hit the ground running towards his hometown. The Sylver Flaym had struck, their reign of terror would not let this city sleep, however now they had struck the wrong city, Ikari's hometown.

He ran into the streets, fighting off their legions. For rogue militia they were well trained in the war art. He scattered around, securing lives against the vandals, aiding in escapes. He watched as both friend and foe died in the horrible attack. But in the midst of the melee... the worst vision came yet: An elven girl, blonde, being set upon by a pack of the rogues. Was it her? No it couldn't be... She is away with her father... Nevertheless she must be saved! Ikari strode forth... back in those days his eyes did not glow as they do now, but if they did, they would have glowed black.

"Chek'sae Rellyet Lanturr Ingitiae Collusi!" Came the words from above. Ikari turned his eyes skyward, as did many comrades and foes, as the sky lit up with the color red. A fireball, perhaps the size of the town itself sank down, obliterating much of the former home of Ikari, leaving no members alive.

Ten years ago this occurred, and yet still the nightmares continue. It was a miracle itself that Ikari survived, having been at the epicenter of the blast. The younger elven soldier would awake a few days later, on the verge of dehydration and hunger, but would be no worse for the wear, save for his new glowing irises, and a whole new world of trouble. However this evening Ikari came to with a jolt, only minutes after his departure for the past.

Beneath the boughs

Postby Sherazade » Sat Apr 21, 2007 7:22 pm

Aliael by now was beneath the tree in which he rested... well moving beneath the lowest boughs... the sound had stopped but she had foundherself too restless despite her exhaustion to ease moving she just had to find out if it had been him. For a moment her steps ceased and moonlight broke through the leafy canopy. Golden hair turned a pale shade of itself in the moonlight and her face turned into the silvery shaft as the last words of the song soared from her lips "where ever you go... no matter what parts us... I swear i will find you. I will search till time ends and you are beside me again." Tears fell again and her head tilted forward her hands rising to her face to hide them and yet they would continue to fall squeezing their way through her fingers

Another dream?

Postby jacktim » Sun Apr 22, 2007 4:39 am

Ikari stared down the boughs in disbelief, Not often do you see a fair elf crying in the woods, in the middle of night, alone. Ikari looked down to her, and took considerate pause. It wouldn't cross his mind that this was her, not right now at least, he still wasn't entirely certain that he was awake. The odds were against it. Instead he descended silently and dropped down beside her, "Excuse me miss... but why are you crying so?"

Ikari!

Postby Sherazade » Sun Apr 22, 2007 6:01 am

Aliael jumped at the sound of a voice behind her.. she should have heard his approach but she hadnt. Hands rose to wipe her face as she began to turn around only lowering once she was facing him entirely. Emerald green eyes widened as they flowed over him "Ikari!!" His name burst from her lips in surprised disbelief for despite the fact she had been searching for him she never really thought she would find him.

A likewise thought...

Postby jacktim » Sun Apr 22, 2007 6:28 am

Passed through the mind of the former Dragon Knight. Still in disbelief he responded in his usual manner, dry sarcasm. "Well... last time I checked." He gave himself a look over. "Yeah... Guess I'm still me..." He nodded. He'd been fooled by dreams before, and in his experience, skepticism was his best option. Although usually by now would be the time where the Sylver Flaym would bust in and steal her away, so his skepticism was starting to falter.

He would adjust his stance from one of relaxed standing to his usual militaristic power stance. His eyes glowing a casual gray now, denoting his mood to show no emotions as of yet. This would definitely be an odd feature that she has not seen yet... the glowing irises.

Please be real

Postby Sherazade » Sun Apr 22, 2007 4:05 pm

Dry sarcasm .... always he resorted to such things... it almost made her smile that was until she noted his eyes... they were glowing "Ikari.... what happened to you" even as she voiced the question a trembling hand was reaching out seeking to touch his cheek.. she too needed to know he was real and not some fevered imagining of a lonely heart.

Please be real... mind heart and soul echoed with the same question as fingertips came within a hairs breadth of his cheek and hesistated to afraid to close that last distance and have him vanish

A Passing Dream, and a stiff soldier...

Postby jacktim » Mon Apr 23, 2007 12:13 am

stood before her, he hadn't felt the touch of another for years. No one simply touched Ikari, not because he did not liked to be touched, just no one did. His face made a shift from his dry smile and grey eyes, to a stern, almost panicking look and glowing yellow irises, 'Best not let your guard down, they bust in any moment now,' He told himself internally. He stood at attention, arms held parallel to his body. A rigid frame of a soldier if there ever was one.

'Her warmth feels real enough.... but that's the problem with these dreams I've been having, they're too real.' Ikari's mind shifted back and forth, believing and disbelieving, real and surreal. He kept his face stern and his back straight. 'A soldier before anything else in the face of danger,' repeated his knight's training. A small pause that lasted for eternity passed for Ikari, a touch of damnation and love was but a hair's breadth away. Why would fate and his own mind beguile him so?

I'm no dream

Postby Sherazade » Mon Apr 23, 2007 11:01 am

The shift in his expression gave her further reason for hesistation..he was suffering ,had suffered so much. But she had suffered as well still she would not withdraw now and she would not let their suffering kept them apart.
"I'm no dream Ikari this is real" she took a deep breath and released it slowly before finally allowing her warm palm to cup his cheek.

Surprise glittered through her own gaze as she kept her eyes on his own just enjoyed the simple feel of his skin against her own and it was clear she had half expected him to vanish before her eyes... like he had so many times before.

Tense and Abated Breath...

Postby jacktim » Mon Apr 23, 2007 4:41 pm

Ikari stood, holding his breath for the moment that she touched him, but when no attack came, his cheek seemed to fall into her hand. His head leaned into her caress and his form loosened. His eyes opened back up, a light blue hue replacing the original green right, and yellow left irises that she was used to. He faced her again, "A lot has happened to me... too much to mention... but that is not important now. Because... you're back."

Ikari moved his head to nuzzle her hand against his shoulder. Ikari was still skeptical, but for a moment there, a glint of happiness could be seen in those mostly cold eyes.

Reunion

Postby Sherazade » Tue Apr 24, 2007 7:23 am

Thumb would move would caress his skin, as he leant into her touch, but there was still coldness in his eyes.. she wanted to warm them to chase it away. "no nothing matters now... nothing will ever part us again"
There was no hint of a lie in her voice she meant it no one not her father not his friends not even those she had called friends. Later there will be time to tell him why she searched for him now, why she had left it so long.

The Tinge of Color in his eyes...

Postby jacktim » Tue Apr 24, 2007 5:02 pm

Changed to a pink hue. He pulled her close, easing his rigid frame into a more soft bank for her to come and rest upon. Indeed, nothing will ever part them again... not so long as Ikari could draw breath to do something about it. Ten long years of waiting had finally culminated in this final moment. Ikari was happy again...

No more Tears

Postby Sherazade » Wed Apr 25, 2007 12:26 pm

Aliael flowed into his embrace her head coming to rest against his shoulder.. the strange why his eyes shifted colour did not matter... all that mattered now was that this was real... that he was really holding her .
'I've missed you so my love' the words fell from her lips as she let her eyes close and just surrendered to the simple joy of being held
