Images of winged men with mortal women were drawn and tinted by hand on carefully chosen parchment. Each of these notes was personalized within artistic borders so that no two were alike:

To our dear Governor Coriolanus Helstone,
whose presence is at all times welcome:
Please attend the very proper Annual Tea Party,
at Myrkentown Tea House, On the evening of Thursday, 12 April.
With affection,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

To the Gentleman, Cinnabar Calomel,
upon the establishment of our new relationship:
Please allow the chance to better demonstrate my abilities,
Attend an Annual Tea Party, on the coming Thursday,
12 April at the Tea House in Myrkentown.
So very warmly,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

To the delicately pleasing Ex-Governor, Altias Bromn,
wherever this may find him, whose kind affection
lingers after any such affair: Do honour everyone
by attending an Annual Tea Party,
12 April within the Myrkentown Tea House.
Glowing with hope,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

To the most durable Councilor, Giscard Guillaume,
in anticipation of our next contact:
Gratify all by sitting in for the
hospitable Myrkentown Tea House event of an
Annual Tea Party
Thursday, 12 April.
Yours as may be,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

To the acclaimed Duke, Burel Tassnehof, of Thessilane:
Your august presence would provide essential company,
therefore, you shall be a welcomed guest for
the Annual Tea Party, 12 April,
within the Tea House in Myrkentown.
Always,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

In greetings to New Dauntlean Baron, Varian apBlanc duMonde,
upon your return home, and in apology for our miscommunication,
you are hereby requested to join in the celebration of an
Annual Tea Party on the coming Thursday, 12 April,

As ever, all shall be delighted to share with you their trade's secrets!
Join in the formal event of the Annual Tea Party
during Thursday, 12 April at the Myrkentown Tea House.
Expectantly,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

With kindest regards for the opulent Councilor, Aloisius Treadwell,
whose engaging philosophies and certain vocabulary is rather sensational:
No party could be considered if you were not present, and so,
it is with appreciation for your full form that I ask you to arrive
on Thursday, 12 April, for an Annual Tea Party which we shall celebrate
at the Myrkentown Tea House.
Until such time,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

To our prized patron, Michael Renne,
already the girls compete over who will prepare your place setting!
I know you could not disappoint, so be aware of our Annual Tea Party,
12 April, within your favorite setting, the Myrkentown Tea House.
In appreciation,
Mme. Cambree Swinton

The small detail of an embossed teacup appeared at the bottom of each page. These notices would be delivered by the same courier that brought a message to Eleanora whose residence was the Broken Dagger Inn. Each would take time to arrive as persons were located. Among these, a last-minute invitation was prepared to reach the freshly arrived Baron.

She was aware that one of these letters might not reach its destination; however, should this happen, her courier had been instructed to deliver the letter to Ariane Carnath-Emory (because she might possibly know the whereabouts of the ex-governor and forward it to him.)

So, there they were, from her list of notables, invitations for what would be a charming event. If it seemed as though there was anyone whom Madame Swinton had forgotten to invite, she would have to make it up to them in some... other way.

Cambree studied her handiwork on all the notes. They had taken weeks to complete as the artwork had to be done in stolen moments. It was not often that she would choose to share a hidden talent with others.

For this event, the crafting was done by her own hand. It seemed an appropriate gesture. Also, she could not rely on anyone else to as carefully express her intentions, and quality was imperative. Beauty, she felt, was nothing without culture, and no other individual might convey both of these attributes quite like she could.

OOC note: This is a specific event for the town's elite, but it in no way prevents your character from arriving (hint: especially if you should claim that your character is in some way associated with either the tea house or any of its service staff.) A note would be returned to Madame Swinton Saturday evening, sent by a well-paid running boy with pockets jingling with Treadwellian shillings. The note, however, isn't quite as wonderfully designed as that sent out. A simple sheet of paper, rolled up and sealed with a glob of wax smushed in with the Treadwell crest of a foot over an (at this size) indistinguishable coat of arms, contains writing in that heavy, smudgy, splotchy script belonging to the councilor.

Madame Swinton,

I do wholeheartedly appreciate your request that I appear at your tea party on the twelfth. I certainly look forward to the event, having participated often enough in many of the sort at home in Westenford. Merely inform me of the time that it shall begin, and I will arrive, as you so put it, "in full form."

Wishing you good health and plentiful replies to your invitation,

Aloisius Horatio Treadwell, Councilor of Administrative Sanctions, retired Judiciar, Myrken Wood

To: Mme. Swinton, Proprietess of the Myrkentown Tea House, Myrken Town
From: Lord Erebus Redclaw, Thane of Meadowford, Thessilane.

Dearest Madam Swinton, the Duke of Thessilane extends his best wishes and confirmation that he shall arrive in time for the Annual Tea Party. As I am responsible for the Duke's security abroad I must ask to be allowed to position two of the Duke's Companions outside of the structure to the front, and two towards the rear. Lord Burel requires none to join him within, so the four men he brings will be all of his entourage.

If this is satisfactory, simply let the boy who brought this message know and we will begin the proper preparations on our end.

Lord Erebus Redclaw, Thane of Meadowford, Commander of the Companions, Master of the Privy Seal

It was a notice that was delivered by a boy in the livery of a Caer Meadowford squire, that uniform being a tabard of crimson hue with white piping upon the edges. A belt of tooled black leather was wrapped 'round his waist, and his breeches were dyed a sooty grey. Hair was pulled back into a tail, and the boy would smile and properly await a response to return to his Masters back in Thessilane.

One should always be drunk. That's all that matters... But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk. - Charles Baudelaire

Each of these errand boys would return home with confirmation that Madame Swinton had received notice of acceptance to attend her party. Her excitement grew at the arrival of Duke Burel's reply (further proof that Cambree's efforts are useful.)

Erebus's letter in her hand, she leaned forward so that she could meet the runner's gaze. His habit was to look down and away, and so she touched at the leather-bound tail that his hair was in, and then fittingly held his jawline in the palm of her hand.

When his eyes could lift, she told him, professional in both verse and voice, that Erebus was to be informed that "Madame Swinton would honor the Duke's requirement of an entourage."

She let the boy go with a smile and returned her attention to the letter. She would read it twice more before storing it away.

To: C. Swinton, of the Myrkentown Tea House

I express my gratitude for the consideration for my presence at what is likely to be an opulent and enjoyable event. Unfortunately, I find myself unable to attend. Soon after this letter reaches your hand, I will have departed for New Dauntless. Matters there require my utmost attention.

Should I return soon to Myrken Wood, perhaps I might make make amends for my absence. Until then;

With regret,

Varian apBlanc duMonde, Baron of New Dauntless

The short correspondance is written in a hand unlikely to be that of the baron's, himself. However, it is carefully addressed and sealed in crimson wax, with the crest of his house and family. The courier by which it was delivered was not instructed to anticipate a reply.
I'm like a prisoner getting ready to talk. I feel the blood in my hands and the threat in your walk.

Cambree read the note aloud to herself. Saintly brows were drawn up by its sad conclusion. Twilight was blushing when the letter arrived. She stood in the doorway while her mind went on weaving together the small details of ‘should’ and ‘perhaps’ and ‘might’.
