Why do they always kidnap the Doc's employees?

Corporal Janis Williams made her way to the old Straka fort outside of town, where Lieutenant Bishop had specified they'd meet to go find the Edificium employee and fellow guardman, Bryce Larose. Captured by a minotaur, evidentially, for a purpose unknown - at least to Janis. The most obvious was to send them a message, and here they were, responding to it.

There was a matter of the note, of course, which Janis had delivered the previous eve to Captain Kerrak's office. It was a neatly scripted note in Bishop's handwriting, simply detailing what they were about to embark on a search for Bryce, taking with them five horsement, an unnamed catwoman who simply went by 'Blank', and, of course, Janis herself.

The gray Janerio uniform still didn't seem to fit her quite right as Janis marched to the outskirts of Myrken Wood. She still had her old uniform, though useless it may be; it was kind of ironic, perhaps, that the old uniform was black and silver. When mixed, they compromised to gray.

The sun had just started its journey.
