At the Toyshop

A letter would be left at Treadwell's old toyshop, more a decree really, that was being nailed to the door in the wee hours of the morning before the courtier moved off to continue his rounds.

The statement was on official Council paper, with the Council Seal, and was quite crisp in its announce;

It has recently come to the attention of the Myrkenwood Administrative Sanctions Office that one Alolious Treadwell was merely a faux persona which did not exist. As such, all titles, deeds, property rights, and wealth within the realm of Myrken attributed to this false persona have been revoked and returned to the government to be distributed as seen fit to the general population as public domain.

Anyone still residing on any of the involved property will have a period of 10 days to remove themselves before being forcibly expunged.

Do have a nice day.

The courtier would be stopped before he could go on his rounds, however, by a patrolling Sergeant watching the building. He looked over the notice, briefly, beforehand. "'Ey! Hold it. By who's autherity is this 'ere goin' up?" the Sergeant would ask the courtier.

Of course he'd stop long enough to give the Straka a slightly snobby once over and wave his hand vaguely towards the meeting house.

"How should I know? I'm just doing my job and making deliveries, if you want to know that go ask them yourselves. Now if you'll excuse, I have to go do my job, you should try it some time."

And with that, he'd be off down the street again.

"Oh dear."

It's late at night, here in Myrken Wood, and a certain pink-glowing fairy king floats outside the toy shop, reading the note there by the light put out by his own little self.

"Mmph. It's 'Aloisius' Treadwell. The blasted note's misspelled! But this really is a dire, dreadful problem, yes yes. . . ."

The fairy clears his throat, looking over at the carved wooden statue of one Mr. Treadwell that sits by the entrance. After a moment's contemplation, Richard takes flight for, well, somewhere *else.*

"Blast it all! Why does he have to be so terribly cold and empty-headed about all of this?! Revoking everything concerning property I'd collected and the like is imbecilic at best! Would he cancel any laws I passed or return any taxes I collected or spirit away the children I sired, as well? Foolishness! Utter foolishness! He'll throw this whole realm into chaos just to spite *me* and have his way with all of this!"

So, with his guards taking up their places around the disturbed little ruler, Richard makes one final, grumbled, hardly audible observation as he leads his way back into the woods to head for the tiny unrecognized realm he calls home.

"I took on that whole person and life to learn what these bigling folks were really all about! I'd dare say that much is now rather obvious!"

The Lieutenant pursed his lips as he took a brief look at the sign on the door, then unceremoniously reached out and took it down. He'd send a brief notice to the Council later stating specifically that merely because an alias had been used, did not negate possession of property. Someone clearly wasn't thinking in the Council offices. As usual of course. Why, if this was the new legal standard, then any halfwit with a bit of glamour could adopt an alias, commit murder, and then use this self made law as an ability to skirt around reprecussions.

Besides, Kilborn's efforts to resolve the issue of the fairy once known as Treadwell suggested that the fairy were very capable of bending the rules and creating 'evidence'. Maybe he should mention this detail as well. It'd probably negate any 'claims' the fairies had established about territory, but that wasn't really Kilborn's concern. They'd proven to be mostly nuissances than anything else.

There was no doubt in Kilborn's mind that this was, of course, Suede's doing again. Suede waged war against innumerable individuals on varying levels. A shame that Treadwell was a baboon. Otherwise they might actually be able to do something about it. A guard or two would be posted to protect Treadwell's property. Afterall, even if they were to pass these ridiculous laws, Treadwell had a wife who would technically own everything Treadwell did anyways. And Kilborn wasn't the sort to bend the laws to the Council's whims.

The decree still stood, because the Council was in the end the authority in Myrken, and the Order of Straka held it's power due to their will. It became an issue sometimes, particularly when the officers of Straka didn't agree with decisions by the Council, that they often forgot their purpose was to enact the decisions they provided, and not simply come up with their own or attempt to interpret them as they saw fit.

This of course did not mean they couldn't do anything without the express consent of the Council. Oh no, there had been laws and statements drawn up to give them rights to uphold the current laws and actions of the Council. Tear down the statement on toy store's door if you will, but in nine days those currently living or using the property would be expected to depart.

As a reminder to Straka as to the chain of command half of their remaining funding would be cut. Captain Daniels would find a statement concerning this and the reasons why on his desk the following morning, addressed from the Council Administrative Sanctions Office.

Captain Thomas Daniels would only chuckle and shake his head. "It's funny that Jirai claims Suede didn't know of his warrant, and yet here's clear proof he's paying attention."

The Captain crumpled the note, tossing it aside. When he received a letter supporting that one with a name signed, he would listen.
