Description
Octavius Treadwell is very much the mold from which his youngest son, Aloisius, was made. As with most Treadwells and all of the related Drivel line, Octavius was short and round: shorter than most at a mere five feet but just as round as his siblings and cousins. He had the same bald dome that his two sons inherited and the same snowy hair. During his time as Magistrate and Chief Magistrate on the Westenford Ruling Council, Octavius wore the customary red velvet robe and gold medallion of office.
Background
Origins
Born in Westenford in 105 AR, Octavius quickly rose to power due to his background as a moneychanger in town. He was elected to the Council there in 150 AR, eventually rising to hold, briefly, the role of Chief Magistrate from 158 to 160, when he retired from that seat to return to his position as Magistrate. Octavius met an unfortunate end by a heart attack in the field at his home outside town in 172 AR, leading to his youngest son's acquisition of his Council seat at the insistence of then-Chief Magistrate Galen Taask.
The Broken Dagger
While Octavius Treadwell never went to the Broken Dagger, he did visit Myrken Wood's Shining Princess Inn once in 147 AR while on a vacation meant to relax him and restore his temporarily failing health. While there with his coach driver, Rochester; his wife, Marian; and his three children, Octavius rescued a young Tom Breckenridge from the boy's having fallen into an iced over Silver Lake, being congratulated by then-Governor Maxwell Beauregard.
The Present
Octavius Treadwell is deceased, given his heart attack at home in 172 AR.
