Description
Eiceblade is 5' 11", and his hair is brown that has been faded in places to blonde due to exposure to the sun. He appears to be in his late teens to early twenties. His body is purpose built for physical labor and exertion. He is heavily scarred from face to hands and other places unseen. He wears black rider boots, black leather pants, and a black leather vest which has hidden armored plates within the layers of strange leather. Though he may appear in ragged or rough condition.
His demeanor is cold and calculating in times of stress. He is always studying those in front of him or within his sight. His moods may change but joyous or happy doesn't seem to be part of his emotional register. He seems to be a man with nothing but business in mind.
His body is a road map of agony and suffering. Scratches, gouges, stabs, burns, flailings, floggings, whippings, clawings, bite wounds from animals that could very well be damn well bigger than himself, and some things you could only figure a twisted sense of discovery could come up with to inflict upon him.
He tends to keep more to himself unless provoked; he will pursue persons or things that hold his interest, though. He is obsessed with learning new things in association with lines of thought he may be following at the time.
The most striking thing about the man is his eyes, which tend to glow faintly with an inner light that seems to be connected with his emotions.
Background
Eiceblade comes from a long lived barbarian tribal race that is practically extinct from Tempestia. His people worshiped Tempesta, the goddess of storms, who held sway of the frozen wastes of northern Arcania across the sea of ice. His people began education of their young, male and female, early in the ways of war. Once old enough to talk, they were pushed and driven to labor and learn, toil and trouble, bite and fight not only each other but their own family members. The father had the duty to train the males and females physical combat, and so beat their students viciously for failure. The mother had the duty to train the males and females mental combat, and so played mind games and psychological warfare. The community as a whole trained the "students" in the art of cohesive combat as teams, squads, and armies.
Eiceblade chose at age 8 to receive full training for himself and his younger brother Iceheart, so Eice got twice the beatings and mental torture so that his brother would not have to be a part of the tribe's lifestyle of endless deceit and fighting. He loved his brother's innocence. He wanted his brother to grow up unbroken unlike their father, Draco.
A storm sent by the gods themselves struck Tempestia and destroyed everything and everyone within the village proper. Fortunately, Eiceblade had kidnapped his own brother and escaped into the frozen wastelands with him. It was a mixed blessing.
Eiceblade found a safe place for his brother at a monastery of the Order of Sacred Light. Iceheart grew up strong and wise from the council of the Order. Eice, however, was attacked and enslaved within two hours of his brother's rescue.
Eiceblade eventually ended up under the tutelage of a warlord named Stiletto Kain. Through years of hard work and study, he became a full member of Stiletto's army, and through a few more years and campaigns, became a general in that army. He assisted Stiletto to make an empire from the ashes of Arcania.
He earned the right of marriage to Princess Nestria of the Kingdom of Dracia through acts of valor and bravery in a war with neighboring King Richtar and Sesaria. The marriage was to solidify the unification between Arcania and Dracia. After three weeks of the engagement, it was ordered that Eiceblade lead the combined armies of Dracia and Arcania in a joint offensive in the infernal plane called Novarhaba, or "Great Death." The plane was one of unimaginable wealth but intense strife and conflict as others from other planes wanted the riches. Eiceblade spent two years in the campaign, though only two weeks passed on the material plane.
On his return, his bride to be was engaged to another. Princess Nestria was to wed Sir Timoly, a knight in the Dracian clergy. Emperor Kain was outraged at the double cross, but Eiceblade merely stated, "May you both have all the happiness in your lives as I have had in my last two years."
The Broken Dagger
Eiceblade frequented The Broken Dagger a long time ago, mostly due to after his cursing it was the first place he had found to get screaming at a rock, stock raving idiot drunk. He was a regular for a long time before a series of events elsewhere caused him to have to return to Arcania and Novarhaba. After uncounted years within Novarhaba, he has come back as a master soul forger. He came back to the Broken Dagger in hopes of breaking the curse that is still haunting him or at least finding something else he is looking for.
The Present
Eiceblade is a fulltime soul forger and weapon/armorsmith and jeweler.
