- Note: The term "Trae Kelsa" may refer to either a geographic region of territories ruled by (or in proximity to the territories ruled by) the Kingdom of Trae Kelsa or it may refer to the Kingdom of Trae Kelsa itself.
The Kingdom of Trae Kelsa is an individual country and sovereign state that has ruling power over many different territories. The Kingdom's historical tendancy for imperialistic territorial expansion has led to the use of the name "Trae Kelsa" as the descriptor for a geographical region under the control of the Kingdom itself. The key to understanding the use of the phrase Trae Kelsa is to understand the continued expansion of the Trae Kelsan territory beyond the borders of the initial Kingdom of Trae Kelsa.
As stated above, the Kingdom has several territories, including, but not limited to, Amasynia, Derry, Heath, Myrken Wood, New Dauntless, Thessilane, and Xanth Grange. The Crown also has a relationship with the sovereign, ecclesiastical city-state of Cennet; providing the enclave military support, should any ever be needed.
All of the territories are under the sovereignty of King Chedwry II, but many of the fringe regions of the empire are given extensive freedom of self-government with the expressed understanding that they are still subject to Trae Kelsan authority.

Administrative subdivisions
The Kingdom of Trae Kelsa is divided into many regions, commonly referred to as Provinces or Territories. Each region is further subdivided for the purposes of local government. The King often appoints Lord-Lieutenants or Ministers as his personal representative in areas across Trae Kelsa; though this is little more than a ceremonial and administrative role. The following table highlights the arrangements for local government across the regions of Trae Kelsa:
| Area | Population | Subdivisions |
|---|---|---|
| Amasynian Provincial Region | ~3,903,000 | - Lieutenancy Authorities - Regions - Unitary Authorities |
| Pelagic Territories | ~320,000 | - Islands - Unitary Authorities |
| Regal Province | ~16,211,000 | - Districts - Regions |
| Western Provincial Region | ~10,826,000 | - Lieutenancy Areas - Unitary Authorities |
