What is known of Father Winter is largely a mixed buffet of ideas from elven and human sources--more the former than the latter. It is known that this portly, dignified, white-bearded toymaker with elven-pointed ears and a pipe in his teeth is held in quite high esteem among elven communities around the outskirts of Myrken Wood and is connected with a variously named winter holiday celebration. His connection to Myrken Wood is a shattered one not likely to be restored in the near future; the first human to embody this magical lifeforce was in truth a dragon, and he sacrificed this power to heal and transform Aloisius Treadwell. Treadwell promptly overused those gifts, becoming too public a figure and being stripped of it all by the elves who bestowed them on a mortal keeper instead of one of their own in the first place.
