Anest'ewyn was born solely for the purpose of being a Handmaiden. One of the male Princess Guards mated with a random Handmaiden, chosen by the Princess, and created an offspring. Anest'ewyn was born with a twin brother. Her brother was seperated from her after birth, he became inducted into the Princess Guards and she was handed off to the current Handmaidens.

She was taught, much like Audred, to deal with things from food ceremonies to diplomatic ceremonies. She has no power over Audred though, being only a secondary supervisor to the head of the Handmaidens.

Anest'ewyn is appointed as simply as an advisor to Audred and the Princess - using what she has learned to make educated guesses on all issues. She has accompanied Audred to Myrken.
