* Deep in the [[Priory of Snowstill]], the imprisoned [[Altias Bromn]] dreams, bled and battered almost to the point of death.

* The dark [[Nightshade]] manifests in the [[Myrkentown]] market square; those few who encounter the masked man are left gripped by a subtle chill, and a sense of confused dread.

* In one of [[Myrken Wood]]'s least reputable inns, small [[Fawn]] receives comfort from [[Brother Prime]], for her part in the betrayal of [[Thadius Dhrin]]. 

* [[Suede Roschen]], [[Councilor for Agriculture]], pens a relatively hostile letter to [[Richard Aengus]], the [[fairy]] who claims to be both [[Aloisius Treadwell]] -- and the King of [[New Hibera]].  A meeting is demanded between he and the [[Judiciary Council]], to address Aengus' claims to a small portion of [[Myrken Wood]].

* [[Richard Aengus]] meantime pens a letter of his own, to [[Molly O'Neill]], proprietor of the [[Broken Dagger (Inn)|Broken Dagger]]. It is accompanied by a purse containing payment in [[shillings]] for the care and keep of his horse, and requests that a tiny door be installed in a mouse hole at the southwestern corner of the inn's common room -- to enable easy access for his small [[fairy]] body.
