Summer bears its usual scourges: heat has brittled the grasses; Myrken Wood's temperate qualities have fled with the remnants of spring.  The Baron's soldiers continue to flood the fields with their colors and steel, adding a peaceful yet militant air to the land.  Commoners continue to spread rumors -- some accurate, others misguided -- about the [[Trae Kelsa|Crown's]] presence in Myrken Wood.

* The wolfish beast that maimed [[Gloria Wynsee]] struck again, this time attacking [[Whelp|Noura]] on the tavern lawn. After a fierce struggle, in which she was joined by the squire [[Cherny Woods|Cherny]], the beast was at last slain. The whereabouts of the other wolf-creature remain unknown.

* Mercenary Serrus Belcaw arrives in Myrken Wood, dividing his time between the Broken Dagger and the shadier back-streets of Myrkentown.

* Rumors abound from travelers and tradesmen about the presence of the [[Wealdhold]], a small settlement of transients and nomads newly developed on the edge of the [[Golben]] pit.  The occasional gossip ferries news that the inhabitants, led by Holdmaster [[Basil]], may not be entirely human in nature.
