Description
The wildling is slim in frame and petite in stature. Recently, with the loss of the creature from her mind, puberty has filled out her curves. She is a little older than the 16 years or so she appears, for her features are youthful. Her face is pleasing to the eye, but her beauty is surpassed by others. Her eyes, achromatic and the most striking features within her face, seem to have a depth they should not possess.

If one manages to catch her gaze for a period of time, they may see the corrupt presence that shares her consciousness. A shark swimming behind the little minnow.

Crimson face paint (the girl makes it herself from natural dyes and plants found within the forest) is often drawn in bold patterns upon her face. The color finds itself mostly across her eyes like a mask or a single broad stroke upon her lips. Her hair is mousey brown and hangs past her shoulders, often tangled with twigs and leaves. Sometimes, it is braided around false-horns when they are found upon her temples. When the tresses are raised, the ruddy magical rune is clear upon the nape of her neck. It has been clawed, carved into her neck with use of knife and nails. Two more appear upon the undersides of her wrists and one each on the bottoms of her feet.

Often, her pleasing features are obscured by all manner of unsightly, macabre adornments. Her most common article of clothing is a human skull, recently christened Beatrice, etched with crimson-painted runes into the yellow, aged forehead and temples. She had not given name to where she happened upon such a grisly possession, but it seems most likely scavenged from a long-forgotten, unearthed grave. She wears it as a morbid crown upon her head. The other adornments vary from time to time. Wings have been bluntly dissected away from fallen fowl and fastened to the strange skull headdress. Two faded auburn-tinged wings sprout from the base of the skull and another pale-white, smaller ones are affixed in front of her temples, placed upside-down. Much larger are the black wings tied to the underside of both biceps as if the girl had suddenly germinated her own pair. Assorted small bird and mammal skulls hang from the ties of her boots and from her belt. Occasionally, the wings upon her head are alternated with runed deer antlers or other beast of burden horns. Whatever her attire, her ties to the wilderness and to death itself are quite obvious.

It
The entity that shares space with the young woman is a bit of an enigma as well. There are those who have called It a demon, a spirit, a creature, and a monster. It does not seem to mind the classifications, but does not settle the curiosity surrounding It, either. Whelp seems to know nothing of the creature, but It has been a constant in her life since she was reborn. A mother, a father, a bully, a friend, a teacher. Whelp knows the creature might very well seek her destruction, but she is loathe to act against It. She feels as if they need one another. It does seem to have knowledge of the girl's past, but does not speak of it to her. It was the monster that gifted her the name of Whelp, though it was only meant as a nickname.

It seems to care for the girl, to some extent. At least, It is fiercely protective of the wildling. Still, Whelp is quick to warn others of the being. Its affection does not extend to many others. There are certainly a few. Niall, Giuseppe, Catch and Stefan Berdini seem to have won the creature over. It might still betray them, should It find the situation in Its best interest. It tends to give nicknames to those It meets in the form of wildlife. Almost always prey. It enjoys making bargains with others.

When It is in control, which It can take by force from the weaker-willed girl with help of the rune on her scruff, Its eyes are fathomless dark pools. A blanket of cold air surrounds the being.

Known Abilities
Whelp obtained the ability to see and speak with the spirits that linger on the mortal plane. They are drawn to her, being one of if not the only one with whom they could speak. It suspects this is because of the girl briefly leaving the mortal coil.

It possesses an unknown magic. It uses runes that glow red, contrast to Niall's blue ones. The magic seems linked with entropy and evil. It can be quite sickening or jarring to those who are sensitive to magical energies.

It seems to have abilities to thwart death from claiming the girl. Whenever injured, It will put the wildling into a slumber until she is treated and stable. The wildling has to heal on her own from there.

Whelp may have increased powers to hinder mental manipulation, but that is most likely due to the creature's protection. Two minds against one does not hurt.

Personality
The young woman seems sweet enough and has a loyal streak a mile wide. Friendship is cherished and she tends to hero-worship those she has befriended. Her brush with death has given her an unhealthy fascination with Death. It is a dream of hers to see a spirit pass over from one side to the other, to see the moment of Death. To recapture the moment of her own demise. There is a draw to evil that she can not outrun, mother's milk to the young woman who has lived with ancient evil in her head. She has a compulsion to touch things, most notably those she finds fascinating. As if they will be taken from her if she is not wary. Her brushes with Niall's protective magics have tempered this to some small extent.

Background
Not much is confirmed about the young woman's background. The only thing that is known to her is that she met with her death and found herself forever changed. Some unknown event occurred to bring her to the forest where she eventually awakened with a new companion sharing her personal space. The girl stared death in the face and It came to her. The dark entity came to offer her a deal. It would extend her life, if she would allow the creature to inhabit her body. Vulnerable and feeling darkness closing in at the edges of her vision, the girl accepted the devil's bargain.

In that moment, she found herself laying upon her stomach, sprawled in a shallow puddle within the forest. Not a animal stirred around her within the dense forest, as if the world held its breath. She had done much the opposite, drawing in breath that was much sweeter than ever before. The puff of air sent ripples racing away from her body in the small puddle and she drew in another. She could not escape the smell of flames within her nostrils, assuming that it was a consequence of the monster within her mind. She climbed to her feet and stumbled before supporting herself against a stalwart tree. The presence within her mind made her feel filthy and brought tears to her eyes. What was done could not be corrected, though, and she had to make the best of that. The two spent months together, traveling and getting to know one another. Soon, when the creature tired of being alone with her, It guided the girl's feet towards the Broken Dagger and civilization. It was far past time.
* A noblewoman by the name of Lady Egris Verreaux, or the Kestrel, has arrived in Myrken with a small company of men from Trae Kelsa. They appear to be quite generous with coin and have brought much-needed supplies to the Broken Dagger.

Myrken Wood, for the most part, has seen a reprieve from oppressive cold. Despite the rumors abounding of rabid wolves stalking through the woods, spirits and morale in Myrkentown are beginning to flourish: spring has finally come, allowing warmth, sunlight, and renewing rains to beat away a dreary winter and all its natural demons.

* Over the past month, the seamstress Gloria Wynsee has been recovering from having her left hand gnawed off by - what some rumors hold - was a wolf-like being capable of standing upright, at least enough to tower over humans. This attack is the the second attributed to wolves. The first happened several weeks before, when Cherny Woods was scarred across his upper arms and wrists by another beast's jaws. Noura the Whelp, too, experienced wounds in both circumstances, the first time in defending Cherny and the second in attempting to pull the wolf-creature away from Gloria.

* Likely overheard by bartenders at the Broken Dagger has been conversation between Gloria, Catch, Cherny, and Noura suggesting that the seamstress may have recently discovered that she is pregnant. The circumstances regarding how she came to be, or even a guarantee that she is with child, cannot be confirmed through this public knowledge.

* The Myrken Wood Inquisitory has been struggling as of late, citing a reduction of available (or healthy) Inquisitors. While this extension of the government remains functional by proxy, the Inquisitory has been nominally unrepresented or has not been readily able to answer requests for the usual investigations.

* Agnieszka Kaczmarek has been having a hard time transitioning back into her old posting as Chairwoman of the Myrken Wood Defense Committee after the terror of The Red-and-Gold Summer. While the work is getting done, the trust of the populace in that work has gone down, despite Glenn Burnie's assurances that she acted as a hero. She has gone through two significant losses that have made her extremely angry: that of Rhaena Olwak, who was her best friend, and her husband, Aleksei River, who reportedly died saving people in an attack by an as-yet-unknown force in Orvere, Thessilane.

:She's begun to spend time at a small compound on a hill much outside of town that she is building with the help of her brother Dominik and some of the other Kaczmareks, on land she purchased earlier in the year; it's beginning to look like a number of structures might end up being built there, including a barn and a tower of some sort.

:The night she heard of Aleksei's loss, she passed out drunk at the Broken Dagger. Two iterations of what happened there are hovering around town: One, that Catch beat her up with no provocation. Badly. With a sword. Secondly, that Agnieszka brandished her weapon first at Catch, who acted to subdue and disarm the Councilwoman.

:She spent some time in the hospital and her wounds seem to be healing nicely, although the whole experience has really made her quite irate.

Vix: Wildling

Appearance
The wildling is slim in frame and petite in stature.

Wings have been bluntly dissected away from fallen fowl and
fastened to the strange skull headdress.

Niall, Elliot Brown, and Giuseppe seem to have won the creature over.

It uses runes that glow red, constrast to Niall's blue ones.
