And he's not so much as expressed it to many. Alastir comes from the large Savoy family - which includes three older brothers, and two older sisters. He was educated from age 6 to age 18 at the collegia ve saes, and then left to his own devices afterwards. The collegia ve saes - is a institute designed to teach healers of Razasan's particular calibre - in the arts of healing, and treatment.
However, no one outside of the collegia ve saes are taught their *secrets*. Also, the collegia deals with apothecarist, alchemic, and basic chemic herbal healings as well.

During the Ordeal of the Ashfiend - Alastir had most of the fiend's memories embedded into his mind. This left him catatonic for a year or so. His brothers collected him from Tempestia where Count Tempestro was keeping him safe. He returned to Razasan and was kept there by his brothers until his catatonic state finished. After that? He disappeared once more from familiar estate back to Myrkenwood.

What is an Amerella?
It is hard to give an exact definition of what an Amerella is.

Amerella are Nobleborn of Razasan who have gained access to the Collegia de Magicia. Usually, they are born with an adept intellect and a keen sense of curiousity. They are taught to read quite early in life and spend much of their time pouring over different books in different categories of learning.

They learn how to harness different natural pools of hidden power, called Vim. They recieve formal training until the age of eighteeen, where they are allowed to practice but only under strict guidelines. It is easy to conceptualize them as mages, sorcererors, wizards of the human world. Only human nobles can legally be Amerella, and they have to abide by strict laws within Razasan. They receive little, if any martial training.

How do they operate paradigm wise?
This is quite simple. They harness the basic natural Vim of the world, or inside themselves. Once they do this - they focus upon a specific sort of effect to create. Then they either use their own natural Vim, or borrow from the world and shape it using their intelligence and learning and then release it. Think of it as weaving. Vim is the yarn. Their bodies are the spinning-wheels, and their minds and wills are the needle and thread that create.

Whatever they create, is the clothing article.

Appearance
Ysaylle Savoy.

Short by some standards, normal height by others, he strikes a decent figure. Of angular lines and a patrician's broad jaw and pointed chin. Pale blue eyes, inquisitive and seeking, that some might see as striking. But always vigilant. He has dark brown hair that's almost black that ends approximately at shoulder-length. However, the grand majority of the time he keeps his hair immaculately in a styled ponytail at the nape of his neck, or under a tri-corner hat.

The Zjetvidjlla.
During his formative years - he attended the Collegia de Magicia in Razasan and graduated in the top of his class. However, his station was already high in comparison to his cousins, Alastir Savoy and Zalin Savoy.

However, like many Amerella - he learned he had special talents beside being a quick-study. He specialized in the field of the Zjetvidjlla.
Zjetvidjlla is an old Northern New Dauntless word that translated means, "He who Denies." It comes from the inquisition of wizards and witches from approximately three hundred years ago. There were many who killed and terrorized the countryside. Northern New Dauntless sent out a plea for help and it was Razasan who sent aid in the form of the Amerella dressed in maroon and gold. These specialists helped cull the terror and were called the Zjetvidjlla because of what they could do. Deny magic to those who used it for terrible purposes.

Thus, the nickname they earned remained for three hundred years. Now, as to what they study it is quite simple. They study Vim. Vim to them is the essence of all they can do. It is what powers that which they study. Some call it magic, some call it transferrence. They refer to it as the base power that all mages tap into and harness to create their magical effects. Essentially, all living and non-living things possess different levels of Vim. Even the environment contains Vim depending on the place, the area, and how many people live there. Zjetvidjlla have learned how to control and manipulate it - even to the point where they can deny others the ability to use it.

Ysaylle is one of these types of Amerella.

The Major of Second Watch
After having finished his studies at the Collegia de Magicia, Ysaylle was part drafted, part volunteered to join the Second Watch. The Second Watch of Razasan is much akin to the constables of Myrkenwood. They police everything and anything that deals with crimes committed by people using magic. At the age of twenty one, only three years after his drafting - his skill and his passion for his job landed him the job of being the Major of the Second Watch. Or rather, the second in command under another Master Zjetvidjlla named Ossi Ro, whom was Ysaylle's mentor.

Background
He can be quite charming, and sometimes quite blunt. This is due to the fact that he is an only child and his closest relatives besides his parents - are his cousins, Alastir and Zalin Savoy. They are related via their Fathers. Both of their Fathers are actually brothers - whom Ysaylle's Father is the oldest of their family. This means that Ysyalle grew up in a household of plenty, and of decent station. However, his competitive side - even in school was fostered by a rivalry between him and Zalin. This was a friendly rivalry. Much more like sibling rivalry then anything else.

The Present
He is in Myrkenwood, secretly, as an envoy of the city of Razasan, and Trae Kelsa - inspective and investigating the channelers under Burel. His other secret agenda is to make sure that his cousins are safe.

First Impressions
At around twenty summers of age, Cinnabar Calomel is lean and wiry of build and stands maybe 5'9" in height. His fine-boned features hint at some elven heritage, an impression reinforced by slightly pointed ears and eyes of pale grey. His hair is silvery white despite his apparent youth, and worn cropped short into unruly tufts.

He dresses in clothes of fine quality but practical cut, usually favouring a loose linen shirt, a doublet and britches of soft leather, and comfortable knee-length boots. The skillful tailoring of his clothes and the surpassing quality of the matched rapier and dagger at his belt indicate a man who not only appreciates excellent craftsmanship but can also afford it, though he steers clear of the gaudy ostentation and vulgar showiness often displayed by nobles and dandies.

Currently
Idealistic, well-spoken and possessed of seemingly boundless youthful enthusiasm, Cinnabar Calomel is a relatively recent arrival in Myrken Wood, but one who seems destined to make his mark upon the territory. Already he has played an integral role in the establishment of the Myrkentown Constabulary, following his appointment to the newly-created position of High Constable of Myrkentown by former Governor Coriolanus Helstone.

Calomel was responsible for the Myrkentown Constabulary forces involved in the Battle of Haberdasher's Row, in which a mob of disenfranchised citizens under Altias Bromn's direction and accompanied by a contingent of Janeiro soldiers commanded by Aeryn Karolinger marched against the Meetinghouse with the goal of forcibly removing Governor Helstone from office. After a brief stand-off and even briefer skirmish the dissidents were successful in their endeavour; in the process six Constables were slain and many more were injured, including the High Constable himself.

Cinnabar has since recovered from his injuries sufficiently to return to his duties; he also continues his training as an apprentice swordsman under the tutelage of Tempestro Starr, and takes care to spend time each day going through drills, forms and exercises, further honing his skills. He has on occasion crossed practice blades with Agnieszka Kaczmarek and come off the loser against the more experienced fencer, which is something he seems intent on rectifying.

When not attending to Constabulary business or engaged in bladework training, he is most often to be found exploring Myrkentown, or passing time at the Broken Dagger.

In Others' Words
Zalin: "Messer Calomel? A good man, all in all. It is a rare thing to find an authority with as much common sense, discretion, and sense of justice. A rare honest man."
The Incontantlle
Aha, this is where Zalin gets interesting. He studed at the collegia ve Incontantlle from age 6 to age 18 - and graduated top class in his studies. However, due to his trainings - he was accepted as a Ricontant at age 19, and for the last few years has been one of the few actually *living* in Razasan. Now, what exactly is an Incontantlle and a Ricontant?

Simple explinations!

In Razasan, magicians, magic-users, wizards are called Amerella. However, they have their own special brand of magic-using that they call world-friendly, considering that they borrow power from the world - then give it right back after they're done using it.

Now, when an Amerella learns as much of the basics as they can, they pick a speciality to study. And Incontantlle is one such specialist. One who specializes in elemental effects. Now, do not think they are Elementalists. Because, Elementalists by nature are usually regarded as specializing in one singular Element alone.

This is not the case for Incontantlle. They use the elements and combine them together to create effects. The more powerful the Incontantlle the more elements that can mix simultaneously. However, don't call an Incontantlle a "Wizard" or a "Mage" to their face. They take it as a dire insult, in some cases.

The Ricontant
The Ricontant is an Incontantlle that specializes in mixing different elements together to create dual effects, or create dual entities that harness the other for the effect. Also known as the Twin Elements, they're use of elements together is renown. They can make one element seem like another, or completely comingle elements into some odd half-element. They are not ones to be taken lightly and their spells are oddly flashy and just as deadly. Also, the Ricontant specializes in controlling base elements more then their less developed Incontantlle origins.

An example of this would be where a Ricontant first takes flame - and then uses air and water to take all the "heat" away from the flame itself. In doing so, the flame turns a dark blue - and actually burns by freezing - rather then by heat itself. Hence, the term frozen flames appeared in Ricontant history when Zyslivi Malvross first invented the effect and introduced it to the Ricontants, themselves.

Another example would be the combination of air and water - where compression of water by means of air - allows it to have a form, and it shot out like twin fangs that spiral together. The air moves the water, and the water in turn gives weight to the air. Combining both for a direct assault. This was invented by Captain Alvori Mendral, who was in the Amerella Corps in Razasan. It does considerable blunt trauma - without doing damage to the surroundings.

The Personality
Zalin, by far is a cultured minor noble, whom is very civil, respectful, and polite - when afforded the same. However, he is kind - but he can also be very blunt, tactless, and indignant - if the mood strikes. And usually, it's after an insult. He's very family oriented, as far as *his* family is concerned and very proud of his accomplishments - that he worked *so* hard to attain.

Cheerful, expressive, and talkative - sometimes he can be stoic, or stern. All in all, Zalin's a Savoy - all right.

The Present
At present, he is a cook at the Broken Dagger - having been spurred to apply by Reilly Thomas, the gardener. And, having taken her advice - he's now on staff, paid little, but enjoying himself readily. Also, it affords him ease of watching out for his little brother, Alastir.

Entrees So Far
As a fun list, these are the entrees Zalin's introduced thus far: Feel free to order them, if he's on duty! Or just, for fun otherwise!

* Savory pork cutlets in pear sauce, with steamed vegetables.
* Red-currant tarts with half-froze creme sauce.
* Thick flaky pastry with raspberry sauce.
* Various pastas, of different sorts.

[This is a place for other characters' views on Cinnabar, for good or ill. What they might say if asked for their opinion on the fellow, if you will.]
Agnieszka: "I like him -- this Head Constable thing ain't gone to his head like it would for most. Oh, yeah, and he still has a long way to go 'fore he beats me, no matter what he says!"

Ariane: "Cinnabar's done me a favour which I do not forget, and when there are not politics between us, I reckon him for a friend. He plays a fine game of chess, but be sure that his are the white pieces; the colour suits him better."

Deost: "Calomel? Why are you asking me? You have questions, ask him. Good day, sir."

* Red-currant tarts with half-froze creme sauce.
* Thick flaky pastry with raspberry sauce.

They were headed by an older gentleman named, Arn Grindel, until his death in battle in a far-flung section of Amasynia. It was then, that the mantle was passed unto Deost to lead the Lancers home. And it was a sworn promise to Arn, that the Lancers one day, would have a place of their own in the world - where the men could rest, relax - and live their lives in peace.
Various wars, border-skirmishes, and various disputes - were settled by the mercenary company. Their greatest rivals, the Black Dagger guild, who extorted different jobs from under them and were a great source of hatred for the Lancers. They fought, frequently, in different border-skirmishes, and sometimes - they'd take jobs just for the sake of fighting each other. ==== Thessilane-New Dauntless War ====
Under the command of, Deost, and in the employ of Duke Burel of Thessilane, the Gray Lancers entered the Thessilane-New Dauntless border-war. Given the charge of stopping enemy Wizards, and other covert activities, the Gray Lancers helped Duke Burel greatly in the prolonged war. Given clearance to have a secret privateer fleet - they also raided up and down Dauntless' coast, seizing goods, and war materials. This led to quite the coffers for the Lancers, and, was their greatest campaign - and most profitable.

Tempestia
With the proceeds from the Thessilane-New Dauntless war, the Gray Lancers, under their Captain - with negotiations from Duke Burel as a personal favor, was granted lands across the Sisakoon Mountains, and somewhat near Derry.

They carved out a country, founded by mercenaries, a haven for mercenaries, and created a grand Mercenary Guild - complete with progressive governmental attitudes - and not under Trae Kelsan rule. However, since they house most of the mercenaries in the region - and because of the beauracracy it entails in fairness, and civil law - Trae Kelsa's King, hasn't deigned it necessary to infiltrate, nor mess with it's rule.
