Greetings, sir.

I have been hearing some things about the border crossing into Heath that have me quite concerned.

I would speak to you about this matter - you may write me at the Broken Dagger Tavern or we might meet at a time and place of your choosing.

My thanks for your time.

Rhaena Olwak,

Greetings and good fortune!

The border crossings are turning into a most serious nuisance indeed. I'd never have figured that Heath, of all places, would have such excellent ability in burying caravans, their goods and occasionally even their escorts under rules, regulations and "concern for the greater good."

Their trade officials evidently suspect Myrken merchants of engaging in the commerce of illegal goods and services. What that means is anyone's guess. My men in Threminor are hard at work attempting to uncover the official who has begun this sudden crusade.

I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

Sincerely,

William James Heffron III

Greetings,

This is all quite worrisome. How long have the caravans been impounded for? Do you know if it is all caravans originating from Myrken Wood, or only some?

If you make any progress in determining the source of this crusade, as you term it, I would love to know.

With thanks,

Rhaena Olwak

Rhaena Olwak,

Mine has been impounded for a little over a week or so, I believe. Several of my rivals, and friends, have complained of suffering similar frustrations but none to the same extent. The duration of inspections varies widely, as does the merchants targeted. I seem to have earned some measure of ire from somewhere.

I suspect that whoever is looking for this supposedly illegal trade good is attempting to search as many caravans as possible without drawing too much attention from his own superiors. This way he appears bold without making things difficult or so I would assume.

There has also been a steady incline in banditry upon Myrken caravans as well in the northwestern regions of Heath lately. Strange how Myrken seems to draw so much spite from other people, even our neighbors.

Good fortune,
