Letters for the sick

Dear Agnie,

I say this once and only once: I'm sorry. The last few days have been hell. We'll get him. I won't die on you again if you promise not to die on me.

Glenn

Later, upon awakening, Tebrin would find some time to read that note, to smile, to feel that heartwarming sense of accomplishment that his deed warranted.

Even more pressing, he would contemplate how it was, exactly, that Agnieszka could fail to spell "you," and yet know precisely how to spell "Kaczamarek."

For now, he slept.
