A letter delivered to Rose Manor.

Dear Lady Rose,

I have in the recent past had the pleasure of speaking with you, albeit a conversation sadly interrupted. Perhaps we might speak again, in a more private manner, regarding certain issues I am sure warrant both our attentions.

I believe you will agree that the time has come for change in the manner in which this region is governed; there have been too many acts that may be deemed scandalous, foolish, or outright ridiculous, and people of all classes are suffering.

It is therefore apparent to me that you and I have much to discuss, and many matters to go over ere the vote is made to replace the lost Councillor - and thence, the dubious Governor.

You may contact me via the men who delivered this letter. They will ensure any reply is swiftly given. Give me a time and place and I shall be there.

In the interests of Myrken Wood,

Sincerely,
Malegnóne Al-D'arcu,
Marquis du Vaneski

A wax seal resembling a red dragon is set to the letter.

“Read it to me out loud.”

She instructed the man with the letter. Once he had finished reading Marquis's written word, she took the letter and viewed it over for herself. Flipping the parchment considering the seal.

“A red dragon.” Isn’t that just lovely. Her eyes narrowed on the man who had brought it.

“Sit down.” Instructed with a direct point to the chair on the other side of her desk.

She began to write in reply to the letter. Fresh black ink scratched neatly over a gray hued piece of parchment.

[i]Marquis du Vaneski, [i]

[i]Your letter was received at a time of much diversity among the people. I regret to say that our conversation of the past is lost to me and I have little memory of who you are. However, your concern for the town of Mryken and its people rests well with me.

It would behoove me to meet with you in the statuary of my own home. Privacy withstanding. The issues of the upcoming election weigh heavy on all our consciences. I hope your calling will be filled with positive alternatives to what presently abounds in office of our Town.

Rose Manor awaits you.

Lady Alexi Rose [i]

The letters is allowed to dry before it’s folded and slid into an envelope. Hot wax is sealed with family crest. A thorny red rose.

"God's speed in delivering that letter." She bid him off by seeing him out the front of the Manor door herself.
