A darkness coming...
He had prowled the streets that early morning, looking for travellers. The fight with Quincy had been a personal success on his part, but he was low on blood. While the predator twisted and moved through alleys, court yards, and gang ways, he came upon something which stopped him in his tracks.
Nailed on one of the walls of the building, was a picture of him. Well, what was supposed to be a picture of him. Pulling it from the wall, careful not to tear it more than necessary, the Tremere surveyed the rudimentary drawing that was supposed to pass for him.
A quiet chuckle escaped him. The rumors about hunters being hired in record numbers to combat the vampiric 'scourge' was true. Indeed, the portrait at least had his name and some of his likenesses, but hardly could pass for him. Chuckling soon subsided, and he let out a gentle sigh. Couldn't these fools do anything right? Lucian thought to himself before crumpling the paper up in his hand, and then tossing it aside.
When would old Alexander learn? He taught Quincy a lesson just an hour or so ago, that he was not so easily dispatched. And the thought of all the hunters and slayers being gathered, how many of those were actually not novices? When would there be a true challenge? He thought to himself before moving from the walkway.
Certainly, Alexander was amassing such a force, not only to combat him, but the rest of the nocturnal hunters that dwelled in the darkness. Dark Angel, the Baie, everything else that seemed to lurk within this realm. The night was no longer the exclusive domain of the vampires', but the warlock cared little as he prowled in between buildings. The more the merrier, he thought to himself as he stopped suddenly, and lurked in a small shadow at the corner of a run-down storehouse.
Hearing the gentle tune of a drunkard trying to keep in tune with his whistling, the Cainite idly lapped at the sides of his lips as blood lust rose inside of him. Fangs soon became elongated as the man stumbled past the corner in which Lucian was hidden. And then, with a blur of Celerity, the vampire struck. With his blackened claws, he dug them deep into the small of the man's back. He would of screamed, but the sound was drowned out by the fangs of Lucian sinking into his throat.
The man struggled futilely for a few seconds by flailing his arms and legs, but it mattered little. As the vitae flowed through his body and into Lucian's mouth, the sorceror could not help but grimace. The sour, tainted taste of alcoholic blood was not to the pallat of the vampire. Pulling his face back with his jaws still clamped on the man's neck, Lucian tore a chunk the man's throat from the man's body. Spitting the hunk of flesh from his mouth, blood ran down his chin and jaw, while the disgusted look loomed still upon his features.
Shaking his head, he reached down and dragged the now-twitching drunkard back to his feet. With a bit of Potence for added strength and emphasis, he twisted the man's head to the side violently, thus snapping it like a twig. But no, the vampire didn't stop there. As if fueled by the sound of the bones cracking, Lucian kept going, and continued to twist said head, until the front of his face was facing his back.
The libertine dropped the body into a heap on the floor while wiping the excess blood from his mouth with his hand. Even the blood in this accursed realm was beginning to grow sour like aged wine that now turned into vinegar. His grimace stayed upon his face as he moved from the catwalk, back into the darkness.
Furious now, that his meal was disturbed, he thought to himself about visiting the Horde encampment located on his mountain. Rumor was they were cannibals, perhaps Lucian could forge an alliance with the army to help him purge this realm; to shape it into what Lucian wanted. His own, personal new world order. Myrken Wood would never be safe, if this alliance was brought to the surface. Why, even Kanashia's forces would have a hard time combatting such a savage army....
His mood already started to brighten, and with a chuckle, his form shifted into that of a bat, and flew off into the cloudy night, leaving the body of the drunkard laying there for all to see his little souveneir of savagery. Indeed, he would have to make plans to visit the army known as the Horde. They were occupying a region of Devil Ridge, and Lucian only a few days ago discovered their location.
Perhaps now was as good a time as any to welcome his new neighbors to Myrken Wood....
