"..What can I offer you, here at the edge of indiscriminate oblivion... Myself. Trae Kelsa. Tell me what we could not take, were you at my side.."

Immortality.. a chance at life forever living - but to what purpose? What use would I find a corpse of a body? What is the point of days that never end? What in life--breathing or no--would take so long to discover? And why would I, a lonesome figure in a world not her own, care to choose a life wrought of nights alone, and food the life fluid of other beings?

The very thought of numberless days, the notions of those night-dwelling entities when I am away from him seem to revolt me. Then, why, when he is near, do I almost consider it? Could it be that these creatures have a hold over the human mind? I fear that I may lose my ground and succumb; fall into the arms of his devilish tricks.

My thoughts often wander to the daughter I never choose to keep. My dear LaFontania.. That action was the most selfless thing I had ever done. What little girl would have a good life if brought up by an assassin? A cold-hearted woman who kills, who hates, who loathes. It had been my choice to leave the infant on the doorstep of a saint; a woman with clean, good morals and an compassionate heart that would wipe away any tear... a mother I never could be. Oh, how I miss my little girl...

With immortality at my side, I could protect her always, protect the children she'll have with a husband she'll love. Though I visit her in secret now, giving what gold I can to the saint that took her in; it simply isn't enough. For now, it is best she never know I exist. Her life will be a happy one...

Immortality. A curse, an abomination...

I have been called worse.
