Chapter 1/7

Sor walked into the trees in front of the sunset. She remarked that she walked into sunsets a lot. It was fitting. Well most of the time. Because most of the time she didn’t intend to return. But this time she did. Why is it that when she’s ready to go ahead and kill herself someone has to be -nice- to her. People being nice to her seemed to be at the root of all her problems. Deep down, she -wanted- people to look down on her. To spit on her. She wanted to disgrace herself.

She stopped and leaned against a tree. She didn’t want to be forgiven. What had she done today? Taught someone to drink. She only knew awful things. dirty things. She had begun to care for that girl, yet with that caring she realized she didn’t want her to reciprocate at all. A relationship with soru could only serve to corrupt someone. She was sick of corruption people. Sure it would just start with alcohol but then...

...then...

She -Hated- herself for what she was thinking.

-No!-

She didn’t deserve forgiveness! she didn’t -want- these thoughts! Really she was better off drifting. She had stayed too long here. Too long. She began to walk along the path, slowly drifting along the path, she began invoking the latent ability she had once been so skilled at and began drifting along through dimensions. She felt her way along the way a blind man walks along a path. She remembered how once she had been able to force the folds of reality to shatter around her through sheer force and fury. Those days had passed. No, this was more like... she was stroking the folds of reality, and slowly moving herself along it, letting it pull her. She closed her eyes to make the process easier. She remembered that it was rather sickening the way her surroundings would seem to warp and melt and change.

There.

That was it. She remembered the feel of this one... it had a particular smell to it. She released the fabric of the universe, and felt everything snap into place. Yes she had enjoyed her time here. She would savor that smell for awhile before she traveled to the next place.. She opened her eyes. Hmm this place was very similar. She was still walking on a forest path. The trees had changed though.. They were taller, and the bark was different. Eucalyptus. That was what it was called. She found solace in her footsteps and the quiet smells around her.

Step. Step. Step.

Left. Right. Left.

A twig snaps.

An acorn is kicked.

An owl hoots. She hoots back halfheartedly. The owl hoots twice in reply. Suddenly she barks loudly like a dog. The owl hoots loudly in alarm. Sor giggles slightly. Really, she was happier alone. She would become a traveling hermit she decided. She nodded to herself. Well... she was already.. technically... but.. She’d buy a fake beard! Then she could scare little children!

As she was thinking this, she remembered the woman she had left behind. She glared at nothing. Did she -have- to think of her now?? She was perfectly fine the way she was. The face didn’t leave her mind. Damn her mind. She wanted to drive a hot nail into her mind. And burn out the thoughts! She cared for someone already. Two people! HA! She hadn’t been too happy to hear that, but it was best this way. She didn’t want foolish hopes. Foolish hopes lead to painful reality. The type of pain that couldn’t bring pleasure-

She found herself walking through a small town How long had she been walking? She couldn’t remember. It didn’t matter she supposed. She realized she had no idea how to get where she was going... She weighed her dignity against her need of directions.

Dignity always lost.

She smiled that cruel smile. Always.

She felt a sudden rush of wooziness strike her. Money too. She needed money. Money buys food. She couldn’t make a rescue/kidnapping on an empty stomach..

And so because dignity always lost, and it does, she walked into a local weapon shop and set a dagger down on a glass counter, rather roughly. The fat man behind eyed it for a moment. Then eyed Sor. Her dingy clothing. The rings under her eyes.

“Need more rum?â€

Chapter 2/7

After a moment she realized she hadn’t asked the man for directions. Damn. Oh well! She had money now! Money meant food! She could ask directions later. After food. Food now. And so she found herself at a table by herself, sitting in front of a ginourmous stack of pancakes, a huge bowl of sausages, and two egg sandwiches. The details of this meal are better left glossed over. Needless to say, a mess was made, a meal was paid for, and a bribe was made for directions to a certain castle.

She found herself outside, her fully enjoyed engorgement safely behind her, regarding a nastily written map on a sauce stained napkin. It had a town, and at the top of the map was a castle. “She could have just said -go north.â€

Chapter 3/7

Soruyao walked though the town towards the castle. She sighed again. This plan would cause her to have to part with her spear! Her faithful spear that had traveled with her since...SInce she had met what's her name. What was her name? It was that easy to forget the name of someone she had cared for that much? She winced inwardly. She didn’t really want to remember it, of course.. The name would bring back bad feelings...But still.. it seemed wrong to let the memory fade away like that! What had her name been...?

Ibaen.

Well -Damn- . Now she had that face in her mind too. Ibaen was better off without her as well. She dashed at a wall and kicked it hard enough to leave a dent. Someone looks out from a window.

“Hey! Don’t kick other people’s housesâ€

Chapter 4/7

The maid sighed and nodded. It was a spiteful gesture, to be sure... She supposed that was the part of her that was her mother talking. She would do it though... Anything for her dear Clara.

Clara smiled slightly. Or was she really smiling? It was so hard to tell when she looked like this. No.. she could tell.. she wanted to cry at seeing her dear Clara in this state. She didn’t wait for a reply.

“Thank you mama... I hope... that you have a nice life... Thank you for making my childhood... so cheerful.â€

Chapter 6/7

Phew. She was safe for now... That had been CLOSE... She wished she had more weapons to defend herself with... Then she realized where she was, and what had clattered all over the floor. She had barricaded herself into what seemed to be a -Weapon Museum-! there were weapons everywhere! Along the walls, in glass cases... Silver ones, ornately jeweled ones, obsidian ones, some that had that telltale glint... She ran over and picked up a pair of crescent blades. A sort of mix of a dagger and a shield. Yes! They were Mythril! She decided she had died and gone to heaven. And that rapier over there! It was so -PRETTY-!

She decided to take a...few things...as a reward for the rescue she was about to make. The princess, she was sure, wouldn’t mind at all under the circumstances.

A few minutes later, when the guards finally broke their way into the room, they found quite a bit of weaponry missing. The girl they had been chasing was nowhere to be found. JUst an open window. They remembered the errant guard who had escaped by jumping out a window and ‘traveling to another plane’. The guards didn’t know what that meant other than it was some sort of dark sorcery. they decided that this was what she had done. They shrugged their shoulders. At least the Queen and the Princess were safe. They filed out of the room after admiring the remaining weaponry.
---

Tied to a stake. She would die tied to a stake. Clara frowned slightly. And noone would ever know she had ever died. It was her mother who would die. It would be tragic, but the countrymen would rejoice at the coronation of the Princess as the Queen. It would be a bittersweet joy for everyone involved. The whole idea made her sick. The queen stood there a few feet away from her she leaned down and looked Clara in the eye. “How I’ve been waiting for this moment my dear... DEAR little Clara. Finally I can be the glorious beautiful Queen who I once was.â€

Chapter 7/7

Silence, as Sor blinks. She shrugs and climbs up to the top of the wall around the tower, getting ready to climb down to a window, in case Clara needed more help. She sees an old woman on the ground on the other side of the moat. The woman was staring up at the tower Sor was on. What was that about? She shrugged. She was too far away to make any difference.

Inside, clara glared. Of course... It was starting to all make sense. The captain of the guard moved over and sat in the throne, the tip of the crossbow never leaving a perfect shot to kill clara.

“You see...It was my idea all along. I found that loathsome washed up sorcerer and introduced him to the Queen. I gave the Queen the idea to use him to become you... and -I- will be the one to kill the last of the Celia line. And -I- will secure the throne for myself. Noone will argue. The castle guards all answer to me.â€

Epilogue

The interesting part of the story ends here. Both women were changed into inconspicuous clothing, the warriors arm was set. It was decided that the two of them should flee back to the dimension that had the Broken Dagger. The old woman decided to stay behind and live the rest of her life here. There was a tearful farewell in which Clara was given the two royal instruments, a silver flute and a dark violin. The violin had a horrible crack in it that had been caused by a rather sadistic guard that had almost killed her as she was escaping the castle. Soru was offered the broken viola and accepted it, even though she had already taken better prizes. It seemed a shame to leave it here just because it had been violated. In a way it was just like her.

Later that day Soru walked to the place where she had buried her bag of money. She retrieved it and hugged it. Then they both hitched a ride in the back of a carriage that was on its way to pick up livestock to bring to the castle. They took this to the town where Soru had pawned off her dagger. The two of them went in to the shop. The fat man was ordered by Clara Celia, the new Queen, to give Soru her dagger, free of charge as an award for bravery in protecting the Queen from an attempt on her life. The fat man didn’t know that Clara wasn’t the Queen anymore, and so he bowed and gave up the dagger. The two of them left the place, and the fat man had felt honored that the Queen had paid him a visit. A few weeks later he found out what had happened, and had felt slightly less honored.

The two women walked the rest of the way into the forest that was the least nauseating to pop back to the plane that had their destination, because both planes had similar forests there.

And so it came to be that the warrior Soruyao had saved the princess, gained a bunch of nifty weaponry and a bag of cash, along with quite a bit of experience and maturity. And a splint on her broken right arm, with a sling to hold it up. And a busted up viola. And a grin. That -had- been fun!

And so it also game to be that the princess Clara Celia had learned the truth about the way royalty works, and realized that really... it wasn’t all that important or worth seeking. She had regained her silver flute that would be the only reminder of her history. She had acquired her freedom, gained a lot of insight on the nature of dignity and was now officially her own woman.

And so a tired writer fell over, after writing out this enormous rp for almost no reason whatsoever. He had lost almost an entire week of his life, and had neglected sleeping properly and eating. He realized he had no life.
