Greetings and salutations,

It is my sincerest hope that this letter finds you well in the wake of recent events. In this uncertain aftermath following the wake of the people's evident displeasure we find ourselves at a crossroads. With new beginnings comes new possibilities and, with new possibilities, the potential for greater good.

It is concerning the greater good that I write you.

Myrken Wood, the short time I have been here, is a quaint place that seems to always suffer beneath some great shadow. It is a land that would be peaceful yet cannot quite escape the darkness. In order that I might do my share to see that we may all yet enjoy peace, I have the following but simple proposition for all of you to consider as I would vastly prefer your permission in this endeavor.

My plan is this: to provide for the children of this place by constructing and running an orphanage to see to their needs. It is a sad fate that young children must suffer the death of a parent. It is a worse fate that such children then be left all alone.

I await your response with great anticipation.

It comes to my recollection that, at least a few years ago, there was a move by a woman in town for such an orphanage, if I recall correctly. You, like she, should be best served to present such a request to us in person at our next Council meeting, whenever that might be.

Of course, if you wish to come see me in person regarding this matter, I can try to review records concerning the former request and see what all has been officially done about this sort of thing before--over lunch, perhaps?
