I, Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Councilor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary In Regards To Commerce and Trade Etc., to our Rayin Taliaferro, Captain of Myrken Wood Prison: Greetings. It has come to my attention that certain of my employees has found unwilling residence in your Gaol. I write to request the immediate release of Vincent Arkell, that he might conclude the Judiciary business in which he was engaged before his unfortunate detainment.

Doubtless, the arrest was nothing more than a minor error on the part of your subordinates; I see no reason to bring this matter to the attention of the Judiciary, once it has been resolved. I welcome your reply and action upon this matter, and trust that my words find you in good health.

He lifted the letter, and regarded it with the idle, mildly amused gaze of one long-used to letters inquiring for the release of prisoners. If it were someone other than a member of the Judiciary, the chances of release were slim to none, until after a trial date. He chuckled faintly.

"Unwilling residence in my Gaol? Giscard, sir, I do not believe that any of the residents of my gaol are truely willing." He shook his head, and rolled the letter back into it's tiny, perfect scroll. He slid it into the drawer of his desk, and reached for a quill, and a fresh sheet of paper.



From the office of Rayin Taliaferro, Captain of the Myrken Wood Prison and the Order of Straka, to one Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Councilor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary:

Salutations.

I offer my most humble apologies in the matter of the arrest of the prisoner, Vincent Arkell. He will be released as soon as possible, and allowed the freedom to perform in whatever capacity the Judiciary might desire.

I trust that my subordinates did not arrest this man under biased pretense, but truly believed him to have commited a crime worthy of the gaol. I must make it known that should he, on any other occasion, find himself to be under arrest, he will be justifying what was very likely a simple mistake. I truly hope that it is nothing more, and that Mister Arkell might return as smoothly as possible to his duties.

Again, I express my humblest apologies, for both the mistaken arrest and the untimeliness of my response.

He sanded the letter, and once dry, he rolled it into a thin scroll, and sealed it with a small blob of blue-black wax, pressed with the Captain's embellished seal of the Order of Straka. He stood, and, carrying the letter, made his way out to the front office, where he spoke at length with the officer on duty.

Both the letter, and his orders for Vincent's release, were conveyed momentarily.
