Receiving the Envoy.

"The trip to Razasan should not take much longer than your little sojourn to Ricathair." That journey was hardly a secret, though neither had it been widely publicized. He did not flaunt having such information. It was a simple matter of logistics. "The distance is farther but the roads will be better as you go and you will have to skirt no dubious or recently occupied territory." That was simple enough. "Given the stories passed around about your prowess, I doubt it would take you much time at all, no?"

He was mostly finished with the tea by now. It was almost enough to make one long for the sludge Guillaime had served. "As for your reception, you will be surprised." He spoke as if this was inevitable, that Calomel WOULD make the trip. "There are those prepared to ensure that you will be met with quickly. No one wishes this to be delayed any further than it already has. On that, you have my word." In fact, as so few would be expecting him, the Governor's arrival would be a welcome surprise to the Court. It would be looked upon in a VERY positive light. Reinstadler had not been deceiving the man across from him when he said the visit could do Myrken some real good.

Ah, but when consequences were mentioned, Calomel began to anger. As he did Josef would just stand and face the man, his expression cool. "We all have our duties, Calomel. We all have our burdens. And we all have limits to our mandates, though you seem to rewrite yours on a daily basis," a true sign of a tyrant-to-be. "It is not within mine to explain to you exactly how Burel is being dealt with. If you wish to know, travel to Razasan and all will be revealed. Otherwise, press precious Hawkesbury and see what blood you can squeeze from that ineffectual stone.

"Moreover, if it was not my duty, do you truly think one such as I would willingly go about associating with a madman? We all have our burdens, Calomel." He went so far as to make that dismissive gesture again. Karolinger tromped through the woods, went without pants, acted the fool. He was anything but noble. No, by admitting to a mandate that was not infinite, by showing some reluctance to associate with Karolinger, what Reinstadler had done was add some sense of authenticity to his presence here, or at least that was the valiant attempt.

Now, though, the Graf was heading towards that door, was looking away from Calomel as he spoke. "My duties are discharged the moment I receive word you have arrived in Razasan and not a moment sooner. If you are going to shirk your duty to the crown and force me to stay in this infernal den of barbarism until you can be convinced to be reasonable, that is upon your conscience. Good day." This time, Reinstadler did not wait for someone to open the door to provide him egress, nor did he hesitate to close it himself, and with a satisfying crash as well.
