Rumors of peril smoked from the governor's mansion, wending it's way down the roads of Myrken Wood. An attack on the governor - strangulation - abduction! The clogging of horses carried the news into daybreak. Those who could listen were urged to hear!
Dark stories cultivated throughout the morning - tales of imminent despair and probable demise of a man of the people, and his homely wife.
His home was without a smidge of foul play. Everything was in its place upon initial walkthrough.
The day brought with it a continuous feed. Some stories relayed that Gad was alive and had survived a vicious assault. Some spoke of Hebecka's missing. Some insisted that both she and her husband were slain and yet others had the governor himself taken by force from his mansion.
The only consistency was the notice of a meeting tacked to the Meetinghouse doors. It seemed the council believed that all was well. Changes to the schedule did not appear.
