Catch's Home for Wayward Goats

Catch's Home for Wayward Goats

Some things had to be finished before snow truly began to pile. Sieges, for instance. Military movements. Refugees escaping through a particular pass.

And public works projects.

This was, of course, ultimately Glenn Burnie's fault. He's the one who gave Catch the goat. There was a very good reason for that and it had paid off immensely. No more pigs died because of it. Certainly no goats. Nothing of the sort. Occasionally the ways the Governor had to deal with the madman were obtuse, but Catch was rather obtuse himself.

Dulcie, on the other hand, was more abstract than obtuse. Imagine, for instance, someone getting stabbed in a single eye seventy-two times at once with large pickforks. Abstract. That was Dulcie when she was angry, and she had been angry at Glenn.

Thankfully, he was quick on his feet. Thankfully, she had found his suggestion rather lovely.

And thus over a span of very little time indeed, a small, one room shack situated behind the Broken Dagger began to appear. Workers moved quickly given the impending weather, given the fact that this project was financed rather lucratively for the meager work involved. Haste and craftsmanship were all that was asked for.
