The Long Debate

The Long Debate

Aislinn paced the length of her meager room within the tavern -having been left there upon her and Sawyer's return..

She had slept until now, early morning -the sun rising over the horizon, though she would never give witness to that beauty. The hem of her sleeping gown and robe danced but inches above the floor boards, flirting in their lazy drift. Clump of hair held and while armed with a comb, she struggled to tame the tangles that had appeared.

While physically she went through these actions, the mind whirled miles away .. stirring slowly over the dreams that had been had over the course of but a couple weeks. That of the insects, she finally understood ..and even now as the plague's grip seemed to lessen -the dreams of horror had waned as well.

There was a new one to concider though, one that confused her greatly as no meaning could be pryed from it. Sawyer knew of it .. Darrin too. Agnie. The debate was this: are there others this should be shared with? Authorities of this place, or .. should these secrets be contained. At least, until more meaning could be pulled from it. Then again, perhaps ..another could tell her what it all meant.

To tell others though, would mean questions of how she obtained any of this .. of why they should take any of this seriously. It was this very gift that could help the people here now that had caused the Elven maid to loose her independence all those years ago. A gift that had roughly removed her from the loving arms of her Aunt and Uncle and left her trapped instead within the guilded cage of the Elven court at such a tender age. An action that had left a touch of bitterness within her breast.

Frustration brewed, disturbed the surface of peace she kept so carefully pulled about her -frown appeared. Wrinkled that smooth, eternally youthful brow. Tangle was caught and comb pulled too hard through the platinum blonde glory that cascaded in the form of hair ..enough to cause a gasp of pain. Enough to spur physical display of irratation .. in the form of a comb flung blindly across the room, breaking as it found the closed door.
