I, Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Councilor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary In Regards To Commerce and Trade Etc., to Thomas Daniels, Captain of the Myrken Wood Guard, Order of Straka, etc.: Greetings. It is my understanding that in the past, the Order has employed various persons of arcane talents -- 'truthsayers', as it is commonly put, able to compell honest speech from the unwilling. Is this still the case? If not, might substitutes be found? Several mages have served Myrken Wood with honour and courage in the past; might they, too, possess such talents?

Done by my hand at the Estates of Lothbury, this 9th day of April.

Giscard Guillaume.

Councilor Guillaume,

The Order has indeed employed truthsayers in the past. The practice was never large scale, as the former captain, Prince Taliaferro, had an uncanny knack as to getting the to the truth of things.

In fact, it's my understanding that Prince Taliaferro is in Myrken Wood. I'll try to contact him about the matter I'm assuming you need a truthsayer for; something's foul about it.

If the Prince is unreachable or cannot help us, we have a couple retainers that will certainly help us in this matter.

Signed April Tenth,
Captain Thomas Daniels of the Order of Straka

I, Giscard Guillaume, Lord of Lothbury Estate, Councilor of the Myrken Wood Judiciary In Regards To Commerce and Trade Etc., to Thomas Daniels, Captain of the Myrken Wood Guard, Order of Straka, etc.: Greetings. With all due respect, I find the Prince of New Dauntless uniquely unsuited to a task which intends to discover whether treason is at hand -- both towards Myrken Wood's governing body, and the person of Duke Burel of Thessilane, New Dauntless' traditional enemy.

Ordinarily, I would not advise you on such matters, Captain; however, these are extraordinary circumstances, and it behooves Straka and Council to work in close harmony. I hope that you will agree that the retainers you mention will suffice in Prince Taliaferro's place.
