It was an odd decision, when one did not consider the reasonings right off the bat. To have Biske taken directly to the Stockade, instead of the Gaol. Surely, there would be some within the township who would jump upon the Duke and wonder as to his reasonings. But, they would be clear enough once asked.

It -was- two of Burel's men who went missing, and though this was Myrken, he felt it was his right to see to the issue. Besides. The dragon-man had brought the issue to a head in the middle of the tavern. While Burel had been speaking amiably with Quincy about the status of the realm in general. As the ranking noble in attendance, he definately had his right to do it. And. Really. It was a much more comfortable place to be held, than the Gaol. And theoretically safer as well. Hell. There were close to a thousand soldiers in and around the stockade itself.

Notice would be put up, of course. Of the apprehension of the man called Biske. Of the location of his dention. And that while he was being held, he had not yet been charged with the crimes. Yet. And that Duke Burel would welcome anyone to come and give testimony at the Stockade. The ediface would be left open until late tonight for anyone who was willing. Of course, everyone would be escorted by the guards of the Stockade...

And so the were-wolf was released from the stockade. Some would say that it was the distraught nature of the Duke at the time. Some would say that he was simply showing benevolence in letting the man go. Yet more would see the decision as a horrible one. Letting the known beast free and back into the world. And that his heart was simply not in it to kill the man. What ever the reasoning, a letter was penned and delivered to Captain Daniels at the Gaol. The hand was a bit off, yet the style clearly belonged to the Duke.

Captain Daniels,

It is my intention to inform you that the man, Biske, has been released after my investigation on the matter. As the matter had been left in my hand, I deem this to be the best overall course. True enough, he is a were-creature, as has been suggested. But I do not believe the man should be held accountable, fully, for what was done while under the influence of the Change.

However. I have impressed upon him the weight of this offer. It is nothing less than his life that has been offered, and though three of my own men were taken down, I deemed to return it to him. This is his last chance. A misstep, and his life shall be forefit. So have I decreed.
