The past few weeks had been more than she thought she could handle. Funny how the heart can be deceiving. It can take far more than anyone gives it credit for. Add to that a soul with a desire to live? Unstoppable.
And so it is that she finally returns home. Down one bracelet, and she was quite irritated by that, she would retrieve it from Mother at her earliest convenience. Fairly well beaten, and bruised. That was a debt that would be repaid in time as well. All in all? It had not been a very successful trip to see her. Then again it hadn't really been her choice. It was almost a shame that she would not be there to see his face when he realized she was gone.
Still, it was good to be home. She was stronger for the experience and there was so much to do now that she had been domesticated. It was time to put her studies to work and learn even more. So it was with a light heart that she lit the lamps and went to the desk to open the large book that rested there. Fingers brushed over the now open pages, a slight smile because they still smelled of her Father.
Before she settled into the chair, she was possessed with a terrible hunger. It was fast and odd. She did not crave her normal nourishment. No she wanted food. Meat. A perplexed expression at that. It was very odd indeed. Instead of sitting, she was donning her cloak once more, making sure the bruises were covered by the collar of her blouse, and she set off for the inn in search of food. Real, human, food.
