Freedom from the strange force hidden at the bottom of the lake only caused the vessel to, almost literally, launch to the surface of the water. His hand fell away from the glass, his balance lost. Not only was Tennant pulled, tumbling, into the back of the barrel, gravity pressing him into the aft wall; the massive cracks reverberated around him, sharp and painful, spiraling cobwebs in the glass as the pressure changed. But he only heard their cry for sliver of a moment, his heart rather like the rest of him was slammed into the glass and began to pound rapidly.
The glass continued to break around him, but everything was silence. There was a 'thud-thud-thud' quick and muted, like vision in a fog, his distant sounding heart beat was all that he could hear despite the chaos engulfing him in the ascent. The all but broken vessel surfaced, water rushing all around. Instantly his instincts came, his hearing too, he pressed off and began to swim. At first, just up and away and with every muscle he could employ. Then to the shadow of the ship, once some sense of his bearings could be made. Whatever effects or damage the water did to him seemed negligible, trivial in an effort to survive the capsizing submersible. He came up gasping amid the shards, grasping almost blindly for anyone, anything to get him out of the infernal water.
And poor Rhaena, to have seen it all, to feel his fear.

Strong hands were pulling, strong hands that put themselves at great risk given the glass in the water and the toxic state of the lake itself. They were intent on saving Tennant though, and after the hard work they went into pulling the contraption free, they weren't about to give up now.
There was Burnie, an arm around Rhaena to support her whether she needed it or not (She had seen so much and felt so much, after all), shouting from the shore. There truly was no need for Tennant anymore. Rhaena had seen all that she had to, but still, he shouted for his men to put themselves at risk for a potential criminal.
Magic had helped to destroy the beautiful diving device, but the end result of that would NOT be the death of Tennant, not if Glenn Burnie had anything to say about it! So say he did, shouting for the men to pull them out of the murky lake.

And Rhaena did need that support, so focused on what was and had been going on beneath the lake was she. Focused on Tennant, as well, monitoring him closely as the glass broke and water rushed in. Who knew what that water might do? If it did threaten his life though, Rhaena would take things into her own hands and attempt to mend the damage. Anything not life threatening would be ignored for the moment, as Tennant needed all of his strength at the moment.

Strong hands pulled the gasping, grasping, shivering man free of the muck and glass. Could Rhaena feel his comfort, the sheer relief that radiated like sunlight from the sensation of warm hands saving him from the glass and poison vortex? Hefted up and onto the deck he was laid out, vision blurry as he looked up gratefully to the undefined shadow blobs with their halo of daylight.
Coughing and choking he spit up a bit of water, only a small amount as his eyes wandered wildly, shifting like a drunkard's, unable to focus. Impaled in his limbs were shards of glass, some small as coins and skipping stones. A larger in his leg, sticking almost straight through. All of them surging with every heartbeat, staining the deck with blood. Deep crimson, warm, almost steaming in the cold air, over flesh of an increasingly ghostly pallor. Shards of glass, large pieces shimmered and sunk in the water, smaller pieces swirled around, both had cut him, few still remained lodged in the flesh.
Some men had found a blanket or a coat to cover him, but the cold and the dark crept in on the edges of his vision. Still he clung mentally to Rhaena, grasping in the dark of his mind for the presence over his shoulder; as if she were somehow the one letting go as he began to lose consciousness.

Rhaena... Rhaena could feel everything. Even as she stopped looking through Tennant's eyes, she maintained the link and felt everything, from his relief to the blood pulsing out of his body. Too much blood. The woman was on her feet immediately, pushing people out of her way until she could kneel by Tennant's head, hands placed on either side of his face.
Tennant might consider his luck here - what Rhaena does next is NOT something she typically does. It is reserved for life-threatening situations, and even then Rhaena will defer to any other option available. In fact, she cannot remember the last time she's done something like this. There are no other options here, though, and so the veiled woman uses her link to Tennant's mind and deepens it to take control of his body as well. It is all laid out in her mind, each violation of the body, every place where the blood was escaping.
"Get the glass out. Now." She snapped at those surrounding with unaccustomed curtness and immediately forgot them, leaving them to the task she had assigned them. She had her own task, which was, in essence, encouraging Tennant's body to do what it would do naturally - heal - but at Rhaena's demand and not the gentler requests of time. She aimed to focus on the worst of the wounds first, continuing until she felt Tennant's life to not be in immediate danger. It would be an exhausting process for Rhaena, because of the delicate nature of the work and for Tennant, whose reserves of energy she would fuel the healing with.

Green eyes, vibrant and some of the only color left in the man, wandered up, searching wildly, aimlessly, for hope. It was found in Rhaena's familiar face, even though he could barely utter a word and his lips were increasingly purple. Yet there was thankfulness in his failed attempt to smile. Seeing her now, there was recognition and relief in the stillness of his eyes as they settled upon her. The angel hovering over him now.
Black crept at the edge of his vision, carefully almost without notice, like the very bandit he'd been accused of being. Rhaena's face, the men, the sky, it all shifted, swam and blurred; depth becoming impossible to decern until finally the darkness consumed it all. Seconds became minutes and his heart beat thickly, sticking, each beat less heavy than the last as the muscle began to halt. Rhaena was gone, but so too was everything else, the pain, the fright, the struggle to hang on. Everything began to slip away, he was even warm for the moments that ensued.
Everything had slipped away, he'd expected that sense of aloneness. Death was surely all the frigid bleakness of a never ending winter alone, filled with sunless and bitter sadness of knowing the world would continue, of knowing he would be forgotten. But he hadn't been. Where the cold had turned to numb, warmth began to fill him. If he had been coherent enough to know, if the energy had a distinctive flavor, perhaps he could tell it was Rhaena who coursed through him.
The men on deck had pulled the glass out and Rhaena's talents were at work. Tennants eyes remained closed, his body laid out, still and nearly lifeless save the stabalized heartbeat sustained by Rhaena. Perhaps it even grew stronger with her help, despite the lack of outward awareness, mentally the accused rogue clung near the end of his life's rope. Not cogent or even focused, he latched on to whatever presence he could, embracing her in the void.
