Prepared for Purgation

Prior Hivarin brushed his hands together. The brothers had all worked hard to make sure the priory was in good working order and would meet the muster of the coming Inquisitors. He had already heard from Lord High Inquisitor Tomias Gestahl. He and his associates were coming from Furt in Amasynia. It was approximately a six-day ride by horse, coach, or cart, by Hivarin’s understanding...add that half again if traveling by foot. He suspected that Inquisitor Gestahl would travel by horse, however. He would certainly carry out a charge by the Pontifex with great expediency.

The brothers had finished Sixth Hours not long ago and they should be finished with the preparations by Ninth Hours. The brothers had baked fresh bread and would again if Inquisitor Gestahl did not arrive this day. They assured the prior that the cheeses would be ready and fantastic as well. Beer had been casked, but Prior Hivarin had informed Brother Licin that the barrels were not be tapped and would, perhaps, need to be sold in Foggy Bottom or Myrkentown; at least until the prior had time to consult with the Inquisitors as to their opinions concerning the drinking of beer on Fridays.

Prior Hivarin felt ready and confident. It was time for a change in Myrken Wood. The Lord God was making that very clear. It did not take long for miraculous news of the flood to find his ears. It was clear that he had waited none too long to contact the Pontifex about the unchecked demonic presence in Myrken Wood. Hivarian thanked God that the Pontifex, in all of his wisdom, acted so quickly the will of the Lord God.

The Inquisitors would arrive soon...and with them, bring the salvation of Myrken Wood.
