After the brawl in her room at the Dagger, Galacia had decided that perhaps it would not be the safest place for she and her new companion to reside. The words of a traveler had set her course toward the Golden Mare in Boverton.
A few nights of travelling between the Dagger and the Mare had allowed her to bring most of her belongings to this new room. The bed, as was her nature, had been pushed to one wall to make room for her pillows. They rested in the center of the room in varying shades from pale pink to midnight black. The bed was left dressed, in case Gaiken decided sleeping on the pile of silk and down was not to his liking. Thus far, he had been more than happy to rest with her.
She had left him resting in the room this evening. He had much to consider, with the burning of Alexander's mansion. It had evoked a great gambit of emotion from her new friend. And she had been there, through it all. Offering whatever he desired, whatever he needed to work through it. In the end, he had slept, his head upon her breast, as she had walked the dreams of that miserable Councilor Bromn once more. More hints, more clues, and still nothing was clear. Nothing save for something that claimed the name of the Baie was headed for Myrkentown.
Idly she wondered, as she walked the road back toward the Myrkentown to retrieve the last of their things, what would happen when they found each other. Would he come after her? Would he come after Gaiken? Would he simply walk away, as he had all those years ago? The truth was, it haunted her. Like nothing else ever had, or ever would.
After the last of her books had been retrieved, she would have little need to return to the Dagger, save to follow the Baie, or at the whim of Gaiken. For Gaiken would no doubt return to torment his brother once more. She would be happy to be there to see it.
