An Unusual Employer

Thu Apr 19, 2007 2:55 pm

It was, to be truthful, an astonishingly lovely day in Myrken. Spring was in full bloom, and all around the beautiful stone mansion flowers and trees were sprouting into life. When Clover rounded the bend, following the small trail which curled around the edge of the forest, she would witness quite a picturesque sight hidden behind the trees. The house itself was set at the base of a mountain, and though the land was surrounded by forest, the estate itself took up the space of a lovely little valley, the center of which contained a small lake. Unlike the flashy estates of most wealthy business owners, the land was only gently maintained, allowed instead to retain its natural wildness, and the look of the house was designed to flow organically with the land around it.

When the girl's knock came at the door, she was greeted by the sight of a pretty and very pregnant brunette somewhere in her mid twenties. She was wearing a simple but well made working dress, and had her hair pulled back into a loose braid, though a few strands had come free and now dangled about her attractive features. Looking the stranger up and down, she offered an honest smile and beckoned for her to come inside.

"You must be Clover. I'm Sara, the former housekeeper here. Jarod's resting right now, but I'm going to give you the tour and get you started." Shutting the heavy wooden door, Sara began to move down a hallway which streamed with sunlight from a row of tall windows. "Follow me."

Late morning was the time the young girl was bid to arrive to the Nightingale estate, and late morning she shall arrive though she had left her own most humble home at quite an early hour. Her journey to this place had been a slow, wandering one of exploration all the way to the lands that Jarod owned. By the time she had presented herself upon the front steps for pretty, round-bellied Sara to find, a good many wild flowers had been woven into the two braids that laid over slim shoulders.

Her smile for the woman was warm, much like the sun already merry within the sky. “Hello Sara, it's nice to meet you.â€
