Here I stand helpless and left for dead
Silver Lake was not a comforting place for many. Its waters had been poisoned; it had a tendency to spew strange things. The latest catastrophe scarred the landscape so thoroughly that nothing grew. As we dance with the devil tonight
The tiny, wasting form of a young healer barely flinched at the soft caress of fingers through her hair. Her mouth opened obediently to accept the gift of a small, round fruit slid past her lips, and automatically, her body chewed and swallowed the small sustenance.
