Rememberance

Rememberance

Darkness. Cold and suffocating. Numb, strangely, not afraid.

A rush of air. Hot. Scents. Water. Mud. Something long dead.

Amber eyes would open then, cringing against the brutal brilliance of the sun.

"Wh.."

The sound of his own voice was startling to his ears. As was the sight, as he slowly opened his eyes, of a very familiar lake.

"I..."

The woman had been beautiful. Tall, voluptuous. Onyx curls spiraling down her nearly bare form as she approached his bed.

"Altias has sent me for you, My Lord."

Her voice was that of an angel. Surely this was Altias' way of apologizing for not staying with him as he had wished. And she was...quite pretty.

As he reached for her, it all become a blur. There was a laughter, a sound akin to glass being crushed beneath a bootheel. Heat, sharp and searing, as blood errupted from his chest. And then...blackness. Still alive, but the burning where his eyes had once been...

"Aaaaaaaahhhh!"

Arms would curl around himself, rocking there on the lakeshore, frightened and confused. He had died...hadn't he? Why was he here? How could this be? It was not possible.

The enormous man would have the apperance of a small child to anyone who came across him. Arms wrapped tightly around long legs, rocking. Back and forth. As his mind threatened to leave him entirely.
